Trained a ~20K LM (probably smallest) that can still write stories

I’ve been pushing TinyStories-style models downward in size, and this is the smallest one so far:

MacroStories — 19,969 parameters, 81 KB FP32

https://huggingface.co/raincandy-u/MacroStories

For scale:

→ ~50× smaller than the 1M TinyStories model

→ ~3,000× smaller than AlexNet

→ 32-dim hidden state

→ 378-token vocabulary

→ one decoder block, recurrently applied 4 times with shared weights

It’s obviously not a general-purpose LM, but within its constrained story distribution it can maintain a 100–300 word narrative with a goal, problem, relevant actions, and resolution.

It also runs extremely fast on CPU and needs no GPU.

I’m mostly interested in how far the lower bound for coherent narrative generation can be pushed.

Would be curious to see how people manage to break it.☺️

How did I go? Also, I was aiming for medium rare. Does this look more on the medium side? Tasted great

Harrop Supercharger

Anyone here actually have the Harrop Supercharger installed on their Jimny? There are a few youtube video's out there, but I'd like to know how it fairs long term, and how it affects fuel economy.

Can't find any real information on reliability / longevity - not that it is an old product, but just can't find much detail.

The goal is to compensate for installing 30" or 31" tires on a manual JB74 for high-range on-road/off-road driving but just as importantly low-range torque at the wheels.

So the choice is high/low transfer-case reductions, differential re-gearing, or a mix of both. My concern is possible long-term negative effects on transfer case internals, chain, etc.

Would the "smart" option be bringing the RPM back to stock-like levels with diff re-gear and installing low-range gears only for the transfer case, instead of doing both high and low in the transfer case? Maybe spreading out the load that way?
