Internet on QE2 in Alaska

Not very good.

Download speed ranges from 1 to 10mb.

Upload speed is in the .25 to 3mb range.

Frequently, I wait a long time for basic web pages to appear--or I get an error message. It took 15? seconds to get this post to start so i could begin typing.

I am on premium.

Also, getting in and out between my phone and my laptop is a series of convoluted steps (room number, date of birth in English/Europe order, click confirm this, confirm that, enter the portal, while being sure to turn off vpn) and going to internet.cunard.com (which the thing doesn't automatically take you to).

Surely this can be better.

The rest of the cruise has been good; the internet not.

What is the real world difference in Essential vs Premium internet on Queen Mary 2?

Asking again because the previous thread on this is 3 years old. I'm hoping the internet is better now? Essentials? Premium?
