Anyone onboard for pic of Belgravia?

Hello fellow cruisers - I’ve just found out that Road Scholars are booked into all the ConneXions meeting rooms all day, all week, and my group has been moved to the Belgravia room for our Sept 2 QM2 TA sailing week.

I vaguely remember Belgravia as being loud and cold (it’s a tender lounge) and often full of unused chairs. On the up side, it’s midship, so maybe it’ll be less movement than ConneXions.

Is anyone onboard who could take a picture of the room (Deck One, Stairway B) so I can plan some mitigation for my classes? And tell me, if you turn 180, is Chelsea visible or do you have to go upstairs and back down again?

I would be eternally grateful!

Need advice for 1st Cunard Cruise

We are planning our first Cunard sailing.

Would greatly appreciate comparison / contrast of your dining menu experience in Queens vs Princess vs Britannia suites. Your comments would be instructive as to which category we book.

Thank you.

Good morning from Queen Anne

Currently somewhere off Galicia heading for Lisbon. Our second Cunard cruise and, whilst we're not quite as enamoured as we were with Queen Victoria, it really is a great ship.

How picky can you be about food modifications without being ridiculously fussy?

I'm slated for my first cruise ever, 14 days on the Queen Victoria.

I'm excited about the formal dining, and we're hoping to do most lunches and dinners in the main dining room, not the buffet.

But I'm kind of a picky eater, especially when it comes to 14 days worth of meals. Mostly I want healthy meals (lots of veggies, plus lean protein, whole grains) but also tasty and interesting. I also hate mustard flavored anything and I see mustard popping up on so many menu items. (Whyyy all the mustard?!)

So if I'm always asking for sauce on the side, alternative sauces/dressings, extra veggies...-- is that going to be over the top? Or is that within the realm of reasonable? Should I just go to the buffet instead? I do not prefer the buffet, but I don't want to be an annoying MDR customer.

Diving

Hey all, not sure if anyone will have any suggestions as it’s a bit niche, but here goes.

We’re doing the QE Western Caribbean cruise in November (Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Honduras, Mexico x2).

Has anyone ever booked a dive trip in one of the ports of call? I know there is no official excursions for diving apart from the supplied air ones, but I wondered if there were any local diving companies who take advantage of the cruise ships coming in and co-ordinate dive trips etc?

I have dived in Cozumel before, so ideally one of the other stops, but would love if anyone had any advice!

Going to cross post to hopefully get some more info

Room Allocation

Has anyone ever had any of the ‘bendy’ rooms (6.049/052) in this instance?

Thoughts? We have previously been in a room towards the front and we quite liked it because there wasn’t much traffic passing by, even though they’re considered the cheapest rooms.

We watched a video tour of 6.052 specifically and the balcony looked small, but I’m not sure if it was just the video

(Queen Elizabeth for reference)

Just an FYI on QM2 Bookings

The system is currently down for an indeterminate time for new quotes of bookings for the Queen Mary 2. Pretty sure they are updating for post March 2027 drydock changes.

Roundtrip Transatlantic Question

My husband booked us on a round-trip transatlantic on the QM2 - will we have time to do a Cunard excursion to London for the day when we get there or will we just need to hang around Southampton?

Queen Elizabeth Repositioning Cruise January 2027

Miami to Southampton with a stop at a couple islands in the Azores.

Has anyone done this sailing before? We are looking at it but a bit concerned about the seas in January.

TIL that Samuel Cunard was from Halifax!

The statue is right next to the cruise ship terminal, appropriately enough.

Spa Vouchers Deducted from Provider’s Pay

I was disappointed to discover that when I used the “take $ off spa services” voucher offered at my stateroom, that the spa professional is then paid based on the lower amount, not the original price. So effectively, it’s not a “gift certificate,” it’s a “price cut.”

This was confirmed by a personal trainer and a pedicurist. I asked because at both appointments, their faces fell when I arrived with a voucher. They were still both very nice and the services provided were well-delivered. The bill showed the service charge on the discounted amount and I tipped above what I’d normally tip, and saved their names for the survey. I also mentioned in the survey that it doesn’t feel like a gift when the service provider is penalized for it.

Side note - I don’t recommend the basic pedicure, it’s a polish change and a quick scrub, but she did the process well and was friendly and kind.

The personal trainer was an absolute joy and bravely let me teach him some partner yoga 😁

Gala evening Theme

I'm going to be on QM2 for the Hamburg to Southampton first week of September.

On the 2nd night there is going to be gala evening. I'm just wondering is there a way to find out if there will be a theme on that gala evening?

Cellular at Sea, QM2

I am on the QM2 and I have an online game coming up in a few days. I am using my cellular provider's roaming plan which links to the Cellular at Sea network. Does anyone know where the signal originates from onboard the ship? I would like to ensure that I have the clearest signal possible for my game so I would like to park my butt close, where hopefully there are fewer layers of metal to block the signal.

Cunard QE2 Menu From 1975, Britannia Restaurant

This is the menu we were given on Monday, 25 August 1975, in the Britannia Restaurant aboard the Cunard steamer, QE2. We were sailing from Cherbourg to New York. I kept this menu as a kid, and although we crossed on the QE2 a few more times this is the only menu I have. I was young and do not remember the actual meal!

Any recommendations for finding people to cruise with?

I absolutely loved my QE cruise and want to do more Cunard voyages. I have only one friend interested in cruising and she is now pregnant and unable to travel. Just curious if there are groups or anything like that. Thank you!!

Environmentally friendly?

So, we’re disembarking tomorrow from an 11 night sailing on the Queen Elizabeth. Throughout the ship there are reminders to behave in an environmentally friendly way. However, throughout the sailing we have received every piece of information on paper. Just taking the daily programs, ‘discover’ sheets and the menus for the queen and princess grills, there’s a max of 23, 464 sheets of paper for the cruise. Not to mention the ads for the various services on board.

How, in 2026 does this company not have an app available to all with the opt in for paper information?! The online web-app is a pdf of the paper info! 🤦🏻‍♂️

That’s it, rant over. Agree or disagree I’m disappointed at the lack of modernity in communication.
