Open Balcony or Enclosed?

When I booked, there were no open balconies without an obstructed view but I just got the "bid for upgrade" notice and apparently there are some. We are doing the TA in August and wonder if we'd better enjoy going outside versus being inside/outside when the weather is questionable. Pros/cons?

What time to collect a rental car in Southampton (June 5)?

We're on the QM2 for the May 29 crossing. I'm booking a rental car for the day we arrive in Southampton. Enterprise has an outlet at the Docks. We are traveling Britannia. What is good guess for the time I should arrange to pick up the vehicle?

Thanks

Complementary room service

I’ve seen a lot of comments about Cunard changing complementary room service. Do we still get it as I once read it’s free for breakfast??? I am hoping if it’s free to get free room service at breakfast

4 Queens Celebration voyages

The celebration voyages that feature the 4 Queens Celebration 2028 in Liverpool are bookable for World Club members.

So if you have ever done a Cunard cruise, you can contact them now.

The website is an absolut mess and didn‘t let me put in a booking, even though I was logged into my account.

So I waited for 30 minutes in their hotline the make the booking that way. Sadly all single cabins on Queen Victoria were already out.

In case you want to go, nows the chance :D

Edit: Website is working now apparently, but QV is almost completely out O_O
I didn’t expect it to sell as fast as a Ramstein concert ticket, especially as its far in the future in 2028.

Cruising for first time

i’ve never taken a cruise before and my first one will be with Cunard going from Brooklyn ending up in Le Havre France. I know how to pack for a vacation, but I’ve never packed for a cruise. So what might the weather be like in the middle of the Atlantic at the beginning of June? I know I have to pack to put some nice pants and nice shirts can I also just wear shorts and a T-shirt not like crappy stuff but you know just normal clothes or must always be a polo and a nice pair of shorts? If the weather it’s not so nice then obviously I’ll bring more pants. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Princess or Britannia?

Hi we are about to book our first ever Cunard cruise. It's just a 4 night cruise on queen Anne for our 10 Year wedding anniversary. We are just trying to decide wether to splash out abit more and go for a Princess Suite or just book a Britannia. Is it worth the extra £1000 for the difference? Please help me convince my husband!! Thankyou.

QEII Alaska--cabin selection

Deck 4 obstructed OV 4129 vs. Deck 1 non-obs OC 1031?

I'm inclined to pick 4 b/c the cabin on 1 seems to be right under the MDR/kitchen.

I'm not particularly prone to seasickness, if that's even much of an issue along the coast of Alaska.

Tipping

Can I please ask, what do you all tip and when? We signed up for the service fee which sounds like it get distributed to everyone. But we think extra cash for room cleaning and waiter. What did you do? When did you do it? Last day or sooner?

Hand sanitizer FYI

I asked Gemini the better hand sanitizer for going on a cruise ship that also does norovirus.

I was gob smacked to find most do not effect norovirus- i asked for a UK one that does and it came up with a few on line or Milton antibacterial hand sanitizer from most pharmacy's

It also said frequent hand washing was the gold standard

Trifling Question about Soap: Bar or Body Wash

Has Cunard made the move away from bar soap as seemingly every AirBnb and hotel has already done? Or is bar soap still available? I'm trying to figure out if I need to bring my own bar on an upcoming trip as I loath body wash in a way that is quite unreasonable.

More routes?

I really wanted to return a week after my eastbound trip with a westbound to NYC summer 2027 but I didn’t find a Westbound from anywhere that meets the dates I want. A representative said they’ll announce more Westbound to NYC for summer 2027 soon.

Does that sound true to you folks that are repeat customers?

How formal is a Cunard cruise?

One of the questions I get asked most frequently when it comes to Cunard is 'just how formal is it?'

Well, I've put this video together to hopefully help to answer that question if you're wondering the same thing!

I really hope you enjoy this one, and find it useful for your planning!

Use a Travel Agent or book direct yourself?

Hi all. I want to try cruises and thinking of booking with Cunard. For someone travelling solo (who is from the UK) would I be better off using the services of a travel agent? Interested to hear how most people book their cruises? Cheers

Need to cancel a passenger on my itinerary, but I'm still going. Everything is fully paid.

I'm past the final payment deadline for my July cruise, and now my friend can no longer make a cruise we booked togehter, however I can still go. I called Cunard and they said it was going to cost over $1,200 for the canceled passenger, but then another $900 or so to mark my room as single occupancy. Has anyone else been in this situation?

I also have the CunardCare as part of my fare, but the agent did not mention if this would help negate of these fees. I didn't move forward with the cancellation process in the off chance if I called back perhaps another agent would give me a different outcome. Looking to see if this has happened to anyone else and ended up happening!

New to Cunard, question about the announced 2028 transatlantic cruises

My family and I are planning on spending some time in Europe during summer 2028 when both kids are a little older. We were looking at the 6/12 NYC—> Hamburg cruise or taking a cruise home on the 7/14 Southampton —> NYC.

My question is how fast do these cruises book up? Wondering If I need to book two years in advance or if I have a little time. There doesn’t seem to be too many transatlantic crossings during that summer so worried about the popularity of them.

Thank you!

Question for Cunard Travel Agents - What will happen if my travel partner is a no-show at port?

Hello! I posted this yesterday about the situation my friend and I. She can no longer cruise, but I can, however Cunard wants to charge an additional solo occupancy fee on top of the penalty for the cancellation. Some of you recommended showing up at the port and just say she isn't coming to avoid this. I am asking the Cunard travel agents in this sub is this safe to do? I'm worried I'm going to show up and they will give me issues with boarding, issues when I'm the cruise, etc. I'm just looking for some expert reassurance, this is the right move. Thank you!!

Norway 7 day Cruise - onshore experiences

Wondering for those that have done the Norway cruise and been onshore, is there a need to have anything other than running shoes for the Styggedasbreen glacier or Pulpit rock in Lyseford? Do you need hiking shoes? Trying to pack!!!!

Cunard website issue

Is anybody else having trouble logging into the Cunard website? I tried last night, and again this morning, but it says it can't find my booking.

When I enter the booking code in the Find My Booking option, it recognizes it and asks if I want to add the booking. If I click on Yes, it goes back to saying it can't find my booking.

We're sailing today, so I don't know if that's a factor, but it does make me a bit nervous.

Taking spirits onboard?

Apologies if this has been asked, but I’m finding conflicting information online. Does Cunard allow 1 liter of liquid to be brought onboard from US ports (Seattle)? Does Cunard allow those 50mL airplane bottles to be brought on?
