Sweet eye patches

Had a fantastic experience with Charlie. There was some confusion with my order which eventually turned out to be on my end. He was very responsive and kind. This patch system is really comfortable, fits under my glasses and looks great. The “pay what you can” pricing model just shows the heart he and his company have. If you are on the fence I hope you support him. I’m going to order some additional shells soon.

My Optometrist found a “small hole” in the retina of my sighted eye during a checkup yesterday, so I have questions for the monocular peeps.

Yeah I had a crappy Monday. I’m not in pain and my vision is still clear and the Referral process to a retina specialist is rolling. For monocular people who dealt with this, was the post op recovery around or longer than the “2-8 weeks” I’m seeing everywhere online? Were there any specific “monocular person” protocols you needed to follow? Did you find you needed extra services? Any services I should be sure to ask about? I will be advocating for myself, so any help is appreciated. You are welcomed to DM me if you prefer not to comment. Thank you!

I’m a bassist for a Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band. As I was working on the catalog I heard the song“He went to Paris” (give it a listen it’s beautiful) and JB talks about Pirates a lot. Usually I wear some funky light tinted sunglasses, so with the bandleaders “f-yeah” blessing, I ditched the sunglasses and did it. Probably 1000 people there. Great reception to the patch and the band all the way around. It was a good night.

A friend and I built these Rockwool panels for my lesson studio a few years back. Lesson learned as the cheap Glue is failing so I am taking them down to fix them now. I picked up the appropriately themed fabric from a big fabric store’s clearance section. They work great and the kids get a kick out of them

As I have a icebag on my shoulder recovering at this moment, let me tell you about my day. I was stone sober during this event. I’ve been monocular 40 years and I like to think I’m pretty experienced and prepared in this monocular game, but sometimes...

Scene: 20 people indoor/outdoor Birthday party for a young man in a wheelchair with a form of Muscular Dystrophy. Usually in these situations, I stay seated as much as I can and just shoot the breeze with whoever is close by. Unfortunately, this house didn’t have enough chairs for everybody, so I was stuck on my feet for most of the time.

I did everything we monocular folks fear will happen..but fortunately I didn’t burn the joint down 😂.

I bumped into people…very often. I walked right into a plate glass door (Didn’t break or crack thank goodness). I stepped on a dog’s tail. I accidentally held a stranger’s hand (she was about 80 and flattered 😂 I didn’t notice my wife walked away). I dropped a drink when I misjudged the table height. I knocked someone’s phone off a different table to the concrete patio (I was mortified by that, but fortunately it didn’t break). Made a decent mess at the buffet spooning my stuff on the plate... I was sincere with apologies and cleaned up after myself.

Stuff will happen folks.
