Astra went 40-0 against Maia 3 at 2400 and then won 7 games against a special purpose built chess transformer

Astra was run with a minimal stateless harness, just the current board state + list of legal moves.

The chess transformer was handicapped though, no tree search or sampling.

It won 7 tied 8 lost 25 to the chess transformer

I just realized Gemini's numbering roughly corresponds to years since chat GPT released

If you look at all the releases of Gemini the numbering is more or less years since November 2022.

For example 3.5 is the last model and it's been 3.5 years give or take etc
