I'm following some build guides trying to find something that's fun for me

I just have one question , why in some builds am I putting so many points into skills that I don't hotkey onto my action bar ? Do they have passive effects or am I meant to be swapping skills during fights to cast ?

EDIT* atm in trying blood wave build and the skills are the curses sry

Haven't played either Grim dawn or Diablo 2 they both seem cool and I only have time to commit to one atm

I'm kinda a arpg casual I've played Diablo 3,4

Im also mostly playing on steam deck if that changes anything

But yea in open to be convinced
