Football based car number plate games
Following on from the bit in the pod about games you play on a drive to pass the time, I have one that goes like this:
Using the three letters at the end of the reg you have to make a footballer's name, the letters must be in the same order as seen on the plate. It's scored as followed:
If the plate ended "BAB", you'd get:
- One point if the letters are spread across the full name (e.g. Brian Brobbey)
- Two points if the letter are contained to either first name or surname (e.g. Fabian Balbuena)
- Three points if the letters are sequential in the name (e.g. Celestine Babayaro)
A plate can only be scored once, so you have to weigh up going straight in to bank one point or being patient for a three. Works best if there are a few of you in the car but still fun on a solo journey. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is an absolute cheat code in this.
