Leveling Floor 2nd Gen
Not sure if this is a Sequoia question but I’ll try. I keep a 1st gen in Mexico that I sleep in and car camp for a couple of month each year. That back floor in the 1st gen is flat when you take out the seats. I just got a 2nd gen that I plan on using to replace the 1st gen, but when you take out the seats, the resulting floor in the back is definitely not flat. I need to have a 4” foam mattress in the back and to slide around a cooler and bins of cooking and camping gear. I’ve been struggling with how to get it flat. A buddy says just run some 2x2s and put plywood on top, with additional spacers under the lower sections, and use self-tapping sheet metal screws to hold it all to the floor (avoiding the gas tank, hopefully). But I’m hesitant to give up headroom. I was considering self-leveling flooring compound for the back part, but was afraid long washboard roads would break it up. I have a lot of carpet padding and 1” rigid foam, but that would result in a big patchwork of pieces, though I could put plywood on top of that foam patchwork. If anyone has a more elegant solution please let me know. Thanks.
