New EVH 5150 Standard - Locking Nut Misaligned?

New EVH 5150 Standard - Locking Nut Misaligned?

Hi all. Relatively new to the world of FR equipped guitars (have an Epiphone Alex Lifeson and LTD M1 1987 as well), so looking for some advice.

I grabbed an EVH 5150 Standard B-stock off Sweetwater and noticed that the locking nut was drilled ever-so-slightly off-center. This causes the nut to protrude a small amount on the treble side and, as pictured the best I can, also creates a small inward gap on the bass side.

My other FR equipped guitars don’t appear to have this problem and posts online suggest a misplaced nut can cause issues with string slippage. As photographed it’s subtle, but you can feel it when running your hands over the nut on both sides.

Thoughts?

Scam alert: Bee's Shop & Heather's Gear Bazar - Lowball Anchoring

How many of you have encountered a situation like this?

  1. You've just listed a new item.
  2. You quickly receive two lowball offers from two different accounts.
  3. These accounts follow a similar naming convention: "Bee ." "Heather ." "Haylee S ." Note the punctuation.
  4. These accounts claim to be from different locations (MA and NY, respectively, cited in the above example, but recently includes TX) but their zip codes map to the same address.
  5. Every time you list a new, high-value, in-demand item, the pattern persists.

This happens to me nearly every time I post a new item.

Screenshots of a convo with customer support attached - with Reverb acknowledging that people who own more than one account can use these accounts to make offers on a single item. This is lowball anchoring and is supposedly not allowed on the platform.

I've asked for this to be escalated for further review because it seems sketchy.
