I'm interested in camping on an island of a Maine lake/ pond. I tossed around Ragged Lake which seems to have a good number of islands, but the legality is questionable.

Any suggestions for a Lake where I could legally and/or discretely camp out for a few nights? Would like to be within reasonable driving distance of Mount Katahdin. Any input appreciated, thanks in advance.
