What’s everyone’s preferred Focus method?
When I started, I assumed some kind of continuous autofocus / tracking would be best, but I found that it had a tendency to struggle in faster paced, lowlight/smokey environments with changing lights - which ended up with me missing shots often.
Currently, I tend to either manually focus if the lens is wide enough, or use AF-S and routinely get things back into focus myself (using a back button rather than the shutter). It feels slower/counter-productive on the face of it but it’s what has lead me to the best results personally.
Just wondering what everyone else’s preference / experience is here? Is it maybe the case that certain camera models just excel at the continuous autofocus in these kind of environments while others struggle?
Interested to hear everyone’s process!
