Chicago Marathon Cheer Zone and Spectator Map

Hi all,

I aggregate all events around marathons and created a mini site that displays cheer zones interactively and allows you to enter your friends time for easier decision making on when to be where: https://www.marathon-weekend.com/cheer/chicago-2026

Edit:

For some reason 80% of the body got lost:
First of all thank you u/surely_not_a_bot for the GPX file and u/Main-Clerk-1901 for the inspo for subway

The background: I wanted to display all cheer zones but make it more useful so I added the feature to add your friends time so you know where you should be. Plus, adding public transport was a great idea which I got from another redditor.

Whipped this out in a couple of days so still alpha and not performance optimized. Feedback very much welcome.

Chicago Marathon 2026 pop-ups, shakeout runs and other events

All the pop-ups, shakeout runs, cheer zones and after-parties I've found are here: https://www.marathon-weekend.com/chicago/2026 Shakeout runs only: https://www.marathon-weekend.com/chicago/2026/shakeout-runs

I have added a bit more than 100 events. Brooks is back with the Hyperion House. Tracksmith is at the Chicago Athletic Association again and rabbit has a clubhouse at the Arlo. Fleet Feet is hosting most of the brand shakeouts: ASICS with Kofuzi, Saucony, Mizuno and adidas.

What I still expect to be announced:

  • Nike: apart from the Heartbreak events and one Fleet Feet night 1st of October nothing yet, but I think they will do something with the Alphafly 4 and maybe they'll do their race format again that was lots of fun last year
  • adidas: one Fleet Feet shakeout with Reed Fischer, but no pop-up yet. I think they will mostly activate through fleet feet
  • Bandit: had a pop-up on Michigan Ave in 2024 and 2025. Nothing yet, but they have already announced it here: https://banditrunning.com/pages/bandit-world-tour-2026 so just a matter of time
  • HOKA and On: both had activations in 2025, but nothing so far for this year
  • New Balance: only as a partner on 3RUN2's runs thus far
  • Puma, Salomon and Runna: nothing yet. Runna has a race hub sign-up with no venue

Sydney Marathon Pop-ups, Shakeouts and more

Hi all,

was waiting a bit for the post and I am expecting a couple more announcements over the next few days. Namely, a popup by Furies Running in collaboration with Nike and Pace Athletic x Asics Pop-up.

Find all the details of everything happening here: http://marathon-weekend.com/sydney/2026/

I update the site continuously and whenever we find new events. I also just launched favorites so you can build your own calendar.

Let me know if I missed an event and I shall add it.

Combating the European heat wave with ice cold sparkling water

It is mega hot over here in Europe with 40 degrees Celsius (104 fahrenheit). Ice cold sparkling water is the only way.
