Genuine question for the SoCal guys

So, I was wondering if my fellow CA riders experience this - riding along, basically chilling, and the car in front of you moves over to the left and now you feel compelled to pass and give them a wave for their courtesy. But I was just chilling

Little mishap

So, had a bit of fun yesterday. Was riding to a Dr appt, on the freeway, doing about 70. Hear a loud POP and the rear end gets slightly squirrely. I knew something was wrong, but I was in the carpool lane. Luckily, a couple of lanes over a CHP officer was pulling someone over, I signaled and moved to the right and got to the shoulder.

Luckily I have AAA, but they said I don't have motorcycle coverage. Dang it, but I called the roadside number anyway, they sent someone anyway (cool!!). I was going to have it towed home, but while I was waiting I found a shop close to where I was stranded and they had a few tires in stock they could put on. Cool, got picked up, went to shop and got a new tire.

Not the usual way a blowout at 70 ends.

Mirror question

I have a 2024 Speed Triple 1200 RS. The mirrors are decent, but they do interfere with my hands being able to grip the grips how I want, like a ice cream cone. Was thinking of swapping them to being under the bars instead of above. I have big hands, I'm 6'4" (193 cm)

Edit: sorry, has anyone else swapped the mirrors to below the bars? Has there been any up or downsides?

Commuting/Office question

I have a new job, so I have to go to the office 4 days a week (first time since 2012, I wasnt a remote worker). My question is: does anyone else commute with just Pando Moto or BowTex under layers? They are both CE AAA rated, which is very important to me. I have to wear slacks and polo or dress shirts, so I would need stealth gear.

Also, any recommendations for boots that look like office shoes?

Thinking of moving to Spain

Hello All,

I live in the US, I was born here. However, my family is from Chile originally and I have dual citizenship. I have a very unique last name and I know there is a village in Galicia with ny last name (I know pretty meaningless, but the area is one off the few places in the world with people that share my name).

My wife's family is from mexico, and she fears discrimination from Spaniards because of it. Is this true? Is there any discrimination towards Mexicans or Chilenos?

My idea would be to go there and manage ny business from there, not take a job from any locals, on the contrary - eventually I'd like to employ locals as my business grows.

I know Spain dpes offer the best route to EU citizenship for those who are citizens of former Spanish colonies (as my wife and I are)
