2 player ARCS

2 player ARCS is really quick. Me and my wife can finish a game in 45 mins to 1 hour. In this game, my wife epic came back in the fourth chapter by scoring 20 points with tycoon. What I like about ARCS is that there is always a work around in every type of situation. The work around maybe efficient or not but definitely there is.

EDIT: I made an error during set up. The tokens in the ambition boxes must match the planets out of play. The tokens in the boxes should be 2x weapons, 2x relic and 2x Psionic.

6 players game of Lords Of Waterdeep

We played two games back to back this weekend. The attack on me on the last turn was brutal. I lost the cubes and could not finish the 25 VP quest. We were having so fun nonetheless.

Check out my shelf

(This is the repost because the previous post was removed)

I have started played and collecting the board games since 2007. The very first game I purchased was the Risk:Clone Wars. The funny thing is I bought Warcraft: the board game right after that and I had trouble understanding that game for a long time. In the last years, I have been downsizing my collections to fit on the two shelfs. This is what I come up with at the moment.

I have the fond memories of playing StarCraft boardgame during my university’s years with my friends. That one will never leave my collection. Games that are probably leaving soon: City of Horror, Rex, La Cosa Nostra, Radland. Games arriving soon: Old King’s Crown & Containers.

My top 5 games on the shelf: Dune:Imperium, ARCS, Inis, Blood Rage, Brass:Birmingham.

What is your play if you don’t have construction cards in the first round??

I think building your fleet is crucial in the first round. You will need the fleet to protect your cities and stop the raiding. Going after the court cards without the comparable fleet means they usually got stolen.

The one idea I have in my mind is the denial tactic. If I don’t build the fleet, neither do you. I will maintain the initiative and don’t let them lead with the construction card.

Dune imperium is one of my top 3 games and this one shares many DNA with D:I. The common criticism I see is that the base game is not balanced and the research track is OP. Many people suggest to get the expansion as well.

I love the games which have strong interaction between players. How much player interactive in Lost Ruins of Arnak?

EDIT: thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Sadly, I think the game is not for me.

It was the fun Sunday afternoon. I think New Angeles is one of the best Semi-cooperative game ever designed. The arguments were really intense during some parts of the game. I want to play station fall next.

I was lucky enough to convinced 5 people to play this game with me lol. It took us three and half hours to finish the game but it is so worth it. The first war was the drag because everyone was figuring out how the system really works. After that, the game moved rather quickly. The grand alliance system, the upkeep system and the unrest system all tied together neatly. The combat is random and might turns some people off but I think the game is truly genius and ahead of its time.
