Are we still in a position where you can't search for a string including symbols and only get results which are an exact match? This is quite frustrating when you get a security alert saying a password may be compromised and then can't search your password manager to see if/where you have ever used that password.
New MacBook user here folks. Loving every minute of it, and hugely impressed with my M5 Air, but as a long term windows user, I still find some things that confuse me.
My current source of confusion is sleep behaviour. If I leave the MacBook idle for some time it turns off the screen as expected, but I can’t find a setting anywhere to make it then go to sleep.
I know about the sleep item under the Apple menu and sometimes use that, but even then I can’ see the external SSD light showing activity, suggesting the MacBook is not actually asleep? Wake for Network access is off.
Am I missing something? Is automated sleeping not a thing on MacOS? I am on Tahoe by the way.
I'm just about to enter the Mac ecosystem. I've had it with Windows. My first step will be a Macbook Air which will be for very light use - browsing, Microsoft Office and that's about it.
The spec I am looking at is 13", 10/8/16 Core, 16GB, 512GB
The only thing I am unsure about is the 16GB of memory. Is that going to cover me and still cover me in a few years time with the same type of usage? I can spend more, but I always, always over spec my kit and I'm trying to break the habit!
