The Soul Cages - what an experience

I've become obsessed with this album. The lyrics, the melodies, everything. It's a beautiful record. The best of 1991 I know of. Was always a bigger Police fan but this album is his masterpiece for me.

Ex partner not allowing me access to flat - England

So I moved out of a rented property a week or so back. Ex GF is not allowing me in.

Legally I guess I am supposed to pay the final month's rent tomorrow before the contract is ended.

However she is not letting me in. I only need to go in and get more of my things to take to the other place. When asking her to please let me in she says no I will not have access.

What if I message the landlord and say she will have to pay the rent as I no longer have access to the flat.

It's a tricky one I guess. Any help would be much appreciated.

Renting from someone who isn't the landlord

So I've just found out the person who I've paid a deposit to is not the actual landlord but it's a housing association that owns the property.

Today is the first day of rent whilst I also pay the last month of rent in my flat.

I have to leave my flat as I've given notice. So I do need the place.

I just don't know what to do as I know sub letting is okay when done properly. I don't want to go and ask the housing association as they might end up making my situation worse.

I have signed and copied what is a legit standard lodger contract.

She lives there. It could well just be legit.

What would people do?

Reheating mince beef twice?

So bolognaise from yesterday reheated for someone. They didn't fancy it, so can I wait it for cool, return to fridge and heat it up again tomorrow?

Thanks

12 month tenancy ends in July. Can I give one months notice? (England)

So I am looking to move out of my flat. The contract runs until mid July.

With the new 2 month law, does that mean I cannot give a months notice to move out?

Wanting to move out of rented flat

Already posted this on a different thread and was advised to post here also.

(England) So long story, but ex GF still shares a rented flat. Our 12 months is up on July 28th.

I'm left having to pay all bills, rent, council tax. She has lost her job and I'm having to use the rest of my savings to see us through.

She's an alcoholic, if that makes any difference I don't know. I guess not. But I would assume the landlord wouldn't mind us going with how much of a nuisance she has been with the landlords shop and his own property taking up the 2 floors above us.

So she is refusing to move out. I would assume both of us would have to agree to hand in a months notice with these new May laws taking place? Like, I could not do for both of us.

If not then it would only mean moving out a month longer when the 12 months is up in July.

My bigger concern is she is saying she won't move out in July, when I'd be within my rights if I were to give a months notice in June, to move out of the property.

For the sake of our deposit which is a substantial amount, I would assume her still being here would make the landlord keep that.

Also it will be very challenging to sell or move out the furniture when she doesn't want me touching it. Like if someone comes over the buy the bed and she's laying it. It's an impossible situation.

So, sorry for the long story. I just would like to know my best options. I am sure I can go by the end of the 12 months, regardless of what she plans to do. But I guess I would unlikely receive my deposit money back if she's still here and refusing to leave?

I've tried to update them by connecting USB to my laptop and going on the website but nothing is happening.

When I charge them it shows an orange light. And it goes dead when it is unplugged.

No idea what I can do?

So my partner has been sick and too poorly to get a fit note. However she can likely get one back dated to a month ago when she was first off sick.

She has a new job lined up in a few weeks from now. Her previous employer asked if she'd bring her end date forward as she was off sick, which she agreed to.

So she's been out of work. Been too ill to work but should be okay to start new job in May.

So in that time she's been out of work and receiving no money, could she possibly claim something? ESA or UC back dated to when she was first sick and unemployed?

Thank you.
