Called to the path alone

Since starting in my spiritual path, I feel that I have shed a lot of old belief systems and encountered vast new ways of experiencing myself in this lifetime + the universe as a whole.

I feel more connected to myself on a deep level than I could have ever imagined, as well as nature; however, I tend to find myself struggling to feel deeply connected to other humans. I do not feel that I lack social skills, I just feel as though it’s hard to find true alignment with a lot of people, compared to years ago when I tried to fit in to social norms and didn’t know myself as much.

I don’t feel lonely per se, just that intuitively I am suppose to be on this journey alone, and been curious about why that is. I’ve heard many other spiritual teachers speak on this as well, “it’s a lonely path” along with my own shaman teacher feeling she needs to do it alone.

I feel cared for and loved and deeply aligned to what makes my heart happy, but conceptually have still pondered on why this path does feel alone at times.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi everyone,

This concept has been on my mind a bit lately. While we are relative humans living on this 3D planet, we are also made up of the absolute and everything and everyone that surrounds us.

When I hear the term “but we’re social creatures, we need connection and communication with others” or you hear about studies on one’s well being declining when they’re in a state of loneliness/isolation, it really makes me think. Is this “loneliness” a state of one’s own narrow mindset and lack of connection to self or blocked heart from the Devine flow that exists at every second? Or, being these relative creatures, with said social needs and wants, does minimum social relation cause harm?

My thoughts instantly go to the story of the Buddha, and his journey with his mind and reaching enlightenment with just that, his mind. But I’m curious what others think in terms of knowing we are all everything, yet still having egos.
