I want to throw an incredible Halloween party

So let me preface this by saying that I don’t want to do it this year. I realize what I want to do is a lot and I want to do it when i’m financially ready and have the right social circle. I don’t think it will actually happen until maybe next year or the year after.

But i’ve been planning in my head an incredible Halloween party that I could alter and grow and have every year. I want it to be like the ultimate Halloween party experience that you could ever want.

Now I know people always talk about a theme but I want to kind of have zones with distinct themes.

The house will be the classic Halloween party theme with the extra elements of a haunted house. cobwebs, pumpkins, ouija boards, candles, orange and black all throughout. Classic halloween party music and halloween candy, and Halloween desserts and snacks.

There will be another space that’s either indoor separate or maybe a big tent that will be the video store. Think retro 1980s-2000s vibes Video Store on Halloween. Decor is very neon lights, bloody, horror movies lining the walls, and tvs screening classic horror movies. music will be throwbacks from 80s and 90s. Classic video store food and snacks, very much like what you’d see from a movie theater as well. Popcorn, nachos, pizza, hot dogs, movie theater candy. Special drinks themed after different movies or horror movie themes.

Outdoors will be the witchy woods campground. Very blair witch vibes, very spooky, with campfire vibes There will be a bonfire or campfire of course. Decor will be very folk horror / witchy horror. Music will lean more acoustic or darker and edgier. Food will be classic camp foods. Anything you can cook over the fire: grilled hot dogs, smores, chili, etc. Drinks will be also themed either witchy cocktails or brews or campfire drinks like some ciders or some spiked hot cocoas. I’ll do the most here to make it the scariest part.

I wanna be real about it: i know this is a TALL order. but id love to eventually execute something like this at least someday. Something that’s kind of all encompassing. I want everything you’d want from a halloween night, games, music, drinks, movies, scares, treats. If anybody has any advice or criticism I am open ears! I would love to have something where I can kind of keep things going annually and change the themes (the video store could become a drive in or an arcade or a movie theater theme, outdoors could become summer camp or harvesty / scarecrow werewolf or carnival theme, house could become vampire or gothic or sci-fi theme)

I’ve been literally dreaming and thinking about this for weeks and I would love to make it a reality someday

I love that Volcarona has past, present and future forms. Which of Volcarona's forms do you prefer? 🦋

What are some strategy pointers we’ve learned from this format?

I’ll go first.

While you can’t really help when you win, it seems more beneficial most of the time to not be in the top the last week if you’ve been winning before. Just seems more likely you can gather points that way.

When giving points out the first two weeks: it seems best to give your points out as late as possible if you think anybody will give you a point. I think the smartest thing to do is if someone has already given you a point, to then give your point to somebody else who hasn’t given one yet so they maybe feel more apt to give you one as well. If you go last you should throw yours away to someone with little points or maybeeee give it to one of the top queens to keep yourself above the other queens in the bottom.

I genuinely do not understand how Verizon’s customer support system is this broken.

I had a payment issue caused by what appears to have been a clerical/payment allocation error on Verizon’s end. A payment I made was seemingly applied incorrectly, which caused my account to be treated as much more overdue than it actually was.

The most frustrating part is that I repeatedly contacted support BEFORE service interruption and was assured everything was fine because I had a payment arrangement set up. I was specifically told my service would not be interrupted.

Then my service got interrupted anyway.

Once that happened, I got trapped in the automated “restore service/payment” loop and literally could not reach a real human being no matter what I did. The system would just redirect me back into automated payment prompts instead of letting me speak to support about the actual problem.

I eventually had to physically go into a Verizon store just so an employee could call support for me. During that process, I got disconnected FOUR separate times before finally reaching someone willing to help.

That rep then set up another payment arrangement and explicitly told me my service would be restored afterward. The arrangement was successfully created… but my service still was NOT restored. By the time I tried calling back to figure out why, the support center was suddenly “closed.”

The next morning I even got conflicting information about support hours and honestly started wondering if my number was somehow flagged because I kept getting shut out of reaching a live person.

Eventually I finally got somebody and my service was restored, but the original issue still doesn’t even seem to have been properly addressed. It feels like every rep just kept trying to temporarily move the problem along instead of actually fixing it.

I’ve wasted hours dealing with this, had multiple service interruptions, incurred extra stress and fees, and spent days trying to undo something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Has anyone else dealt with Verizon misapplying payments or getting completely locked out of speaking to support once service is interrupted?
