If a user uses caps lock instead of shift, I immediately assume they're the reason their password doesn't work.

Don't get me wrong, I wish all heathen Caps Lockers happy and full lives, but in every single password failure instance I've had where I've noticed the user using caps lock in place of the shift key, it has resulted in them making a typo and their password failing. And when they blame the system, I suggest a generic password to test, and it immediately works.

Thanks for letting me rant, I needed that.

My Summer Event Hot Take

As im sitting here grilling up these fish for you all (you're welcome by the way,) I'm thinking about why the summer event is catching flack.

Bottom line up front: it's a copy and paste in a place where we were hoping for something new, except with fewer features than before, and the rewards are just... not interesting.

Having said that, it's fine. It serves it's purpose as being the seasonal thing to do while we wait for more interesting content to come out. It doesn't force me to do it by having extremely good training methods, or rewards that affect the economy, or fomo one time only mega rares from a gambling slot machine.

So, giving Jagex a bit of grace here, I'll say im overall feeling very indifferent towards the content here, but I'm looking forward to how they improve it next year when they presumably have the time to do so.

Reflection Curses break combat animations when taking damage. Soul Split does not.

I've submitted a bug report in game, but given the mods are active here and there's a flair, I wanted to make a post about it.

When using reflect curses, if you take damage during combat animations, the animation is cancelled. If you're using Soul Split this doesn't happen.

This might seem minor to some, but to others it can look janky, and mess with your head when you aren't hearing/seeing your character do anything.

Guess who didnt know there was gonna be an episode 14?

I thought EP13 was the finale and I was livid with all the unresolved teenage angst.

Did everyone else know? I have a shopping cart full of the Manga right now. I was so upset about not knowing how it all plays out.

What causes the combat animations to just not work?

I've noticed for a while now that a lot of my combat animations just won't work sometimes. This usually doesn't happen out and about in the world, just in specific instances, such as with Arch Glacor.

Any guesses on what this cave is?

While wandering around looking for good spots to take screenshots, I noticed this cave down here along the river between Wendlewick and Ashdale.

Not to Meta game, but I can't imagine a level designer would place entrances to places like this for no reason. So here's hoping it's something cool.

Im hoping for a cool Havenhythe Slayer cave.

My Friends and I got our first Amby kill today

I recently got a Zuk kill and that motivated me to learn the Elite Dungeons with my friends. Other than the line of hands at Seiryu planking me a bunch, we made good progress through them until we hit Amby. Namely his spinner phase. Between DPS being too low, and diving directly into the beams, we got real familiar with the decorations in deaths office.

But after about 20 combined deaths we got it all worked out and pressed his off button. It was such a satisfying experience and I had a lot of fun.

Cant wait to get rolled by Zammy.

(P.s. my friend on the left in First Necro is a Trust Fund baby who recovered his account recently to find he had an H'Ween mask that he sold and decided to get himself a little treat in the form of BiS Necro. Despite his gear, he, like myself, is also new to all this PvM stuff.)

Amberfell Spoilers - My Take On Modern Quest Design

TL:DR - I think the modern quest designs will make these quests timeless for those experiencing them years from now, And I think those of us playing on release day with lots of experience may find them underwhelming due to the natural hype that comes with new releases.

Bottom Line Up Front, I really enjoyed Secrets Of Amberfell. I love when quests are up front about what needs to be done, and provide a clear path forward with puzzles that don't require trial and error to solve.

I imagine some might potentially have felt underwhelmed by the quest as a whole given that after the quest there isn't much to do, but from what I can tell this will be a Required Quest for the new Dig Site, and having played through a lot of older content to unlock other content I want, it would have been nice if some of that older content was less... obtuse.

Quests like these will feel underwhelming right now for players chomping at the bit for new content, but in time these quests will make up the Req's for future content on Havenhythe, and I think it's great that it feels like an adventure rather than a slog.

All in all, as someone who reads the quest dialogue and only resorts to a guide when I'm stuck, I enjoyed this quest a lot. It was a fun time. Looking forward to more.

My Newbie friend fought KBD today. This is a Canon event for him.

Before anyone roasts me, I grabbed tank armor and Excalibur just so he could be the bad boy dps.

He started about 2 months ago and it's been fun watching him progress without any prior context to this game. It made me nostalgic, and I hope to continue to see more people trying the game out and going through these early encounters.

I finally got a Zuk kill.

I made this account in 2020 after being away for a long time. Beating Zuk was a years long goal for me and since my favorite style is Melee I knew it would be kinda tough since im a casual player. I really struggled staying alive since im not really that good at combat, but thanks to some tips about using Obsidian armor I was able to get the breathing room I needed and managed to pull it off.

I just wanted to share with yall how much fun I've had. Im so happy to finally get that cape.

We sure have come a long way

I know we all like to gather here on reddit to complain about our favorite game (My post history is brimming with passive-aggressive Hero Pass content.) But man, when you stop and smell the Golden Roses, this game has really come a long way in a short time.

It's not perfect, and never will be, but it's my favorite game of all time, and I just really love where it is right now.

The music, the buildings, the occasional screams of an adventurer falling to their death while training agility.

It brings me peace.
