I'm using silica gel to deal with booklice
I found booklice on some of my books. I don't have a freezer, so I can't freeze my books to kill them, and I'd really like to avoid throwing my books away. So, I came up with a possible solution. I placed the books with booklice and those adjacent to them in hermetic zipper plastic bags, and added 1 g sillica gel packets to reduce humidity. Apparently, I've read that silica gel eventually reaches its peak capability and ends up releasing the moisture it has collected. How often should I replace the packets to avoid this? And how long should I keep with this "treatment" to kill all the booklice?
