The core ideas behind our 4X strategy game you can finish in a single sitting

Hello again, Reddit! Tiny Conquests team here.
We wanted to tell you a little more about our game.

Tiny Conquests is a turn-based 4X strategy game. Its buildings, units and technologies are inspired by world history between the mid-18th century to the beginning of World War I, without tying the game to a specific historical timeline or set of events.

Our goal is for each match to last around 20–45 minutes. You can explore the map, expand your nation, develop cities, research technologies and fight other nations, but a full match can be completed in one sitting.

Prosperity is the main way of measuring how your nation is developing. Almost everything you do contributes to it, including exploring tiles, growing cities, constructing buildings, researching technologies, training units and winning battles.

As your Prosperity increases, you unlock rewards, bonuses and Leaders.

Each nation has its own Leaders with passive bonuses connected to these areas. This means the same nation can develop differently depending on the choices you make.

There are also different ways to win depending on the game mode, so you do not always need to focus on conquest.

The first release will focus on single-player, with multiplayer planned for a later update.
Thanks for reading. We are happy to answer any questions about the game or its mechanics.

Update to our 4X game’s art style

Hello!

We’re a small 4-person team currently working on a turn-based 4X strategy game that aims to deliver a complete experience in under 45 minutes.

Over the past few months we’ve been focusing almost entirely on the core gameplay loop, using placeholder visuals while we figured out what the game should actually be. Now that the foundations are in place, we’ve started updating the game’s visual direction and wanted to share some of the results.

Our goal is to create a world that feels warm and inviting, while remaining clear and readable during gameplay.

The screenshots show the direction we’re currently pursuing, and we’d love to hear your thoughts.

Make sure to visit our r/tinyconquests if you're interested in the project. Thank you!

We’re returning to PC development with a new 4X strategy game

Hey everyone!

We are a small team of 4 developers with a passion for gaming

After spending the last few years working on VR titles, we’re excited to be returning to PC development with our next project: a cozy 4X game.

The game is still in active development, but we wanted to start sharing our progress and getting feedback from the community early. Our goal is to create something that’s approachable and relaxing, while still scratching that classic 4X strategy itch.

Here are a few screenshots from our current prototype.

We’d love to hear your first impressions
