I've posted this same question before but I got more info.

I don't remember much about it at all because I was 3 when I first saw it, but I have asked my parents about it and all I have is this info about it.

1. It was released around the 80's and 90's

2. it got an official DVD release (according to my dad)

3. the main cast wasn't large, consisting of about 5 girls and only girls

4. it was a horror anime and nothing about it was happy, at all and all the colours were desaturated. There was no comedy ever in it, it was all disturbing and sad.

5. it moved slowly, not pacing wise but in terms of how the characters themselves moved

6. the music was creepy and very traditional

7. My mum couldn't tell what it was about since it was in all Japanese and no subtitles, but it seemed to be about one of girls being destined to die

8. the 2 scenes I remember are one of a girl walking up a narrow hill to a tree with no leaves and when she reached the tree she stabs herself through the chest and she let's out a blood curdling scream. during that scene, it flickers between another scene of a girl wandering through the house. it seems to be a traditional Japanese house. and every corner the girl takes, the house just seems bigger. The other scene I remember isn't very helpful but it's of 3 girls all facing each other in one room of the house.

9. the house was on or nearby a lake

10. the show took place outside a city

11. it's grounded horror, no paranormal or supernatural elements

I asked this same question on another subreddit and I can tell you right now the anime isn't; Vampire Princess Miyu, Boogiepop Phantom, Vampire Hunter D (idk why someone said it was), or the curse of Kazuo Umezu

I can't draw the scenes I remember so I can't provide a picture, but if I saw it I'd know it. I really hope somebody can tell me the name of this anime

So, when I was younger (abt 4yo), my parents bought a bunch of DVDs, and among them was this anime. One thing I know about it is I definitely shouldn't have been watching it as a 4 year old.

As for the anime itself, my mum said it looked really old, so I'm thinking like 80's-90's, maybe just maybe 2000's? and she said she'd be able to tell when I put it on because it had really creepy music. and my dad remembers it as being a really really dark psychological horror of sorts. what I can remember from it is one scene. In the scene it's a fairly narrow hill with a tree with no leaves I think, and a girl slowly approaching. it flickers between a traditional Japanese house and the tree. The house was all Grey with a girl standing inside with what I remember being red eyes. Back to the tree, the girl, tree and hill were all black, where as the sky behind them was red. when she got to the tree she impaled herself with a tree branch and let out a blood curdling scream that when I first heard it, gave me nightmares. It's the only thing I remember from the show. I don't have any pictures of it, and keep in mind I was 4 so I dont remember any character names or how music went nor do my parents remember.

I really wanna find this anime, or at least I'm pretty sure its an anime, regardless I really wanna find the name of it because I wanna go back and watch it with a more developed mind and comprehension skills. i couldn't draw it and I've described it the best I can, all I'm saying is if I saw it, I'd be able to tell you. please, can someone try help me find this anime
