Freezer workers, that equipment nice and frosty for you?

Just got this used-but-new-to-us hi-lo to replace the old fossil that finally bit the dust. Love how it controls in comparison, but damn it feels like it frosts up even more than the others we have. How have your freezer experiences been, equipment related or otherwise?

I've been using Duolingo for Arabic, and...

Great choice of sentence, Duolingo! I totally thought the house was a doctor.

Any other Duolingo sentences raised an eyebrow or two?

What I actually miss about retail

I am no longer in retail as of 3.5 years ago. Seeing all the various gripes around here are completely relatable and remind me of why I left. But it wasn't all bad, though the bad outweighed the good.

For all the bad customers, there were a few good ones. I was at an auto parts store for 6.5 years. Naturally I got quite a lot of regular customers, many of whom I had a good business relationship with. Being the only one at the store who speaks Spanish, that naturally drew more customers my way who actually appreciated me. And even one-time customers who were in a bind I helped them out of - it always felt great to help when they actually showed common courtesy and appreciation.

So yeah, despite all the bad customers, I do miss the good ones. Any other former retail feel the same?

Well, I think this old rig finally bit the dust

I used the pictured hi-lo at my job, working in a -10 freezer. I've only been there 6 months, but always used this old, rickety thing. The other day, it randomly started moving very slow, then stopped completely. My supervisor was able to move it to the repair area, and the motor was sparking. After inspection, the motor was fried, and it's not cost-effective to repair.

Rest well, sweet prince. 🫡

[ALL] Three Heart Challenge and other challenges

I used to regularly do Three Heart Challenge runs, or more specifically Minimalist Runs (no optional upgrades whatsoever, not counting glitch skips and the like) on various games in the series just for fun. Had some successful runs like OoT 3D MQ, WW HD Hero Mode, TP, a few others. But my biggest failure was the Minimalist Run in ALBW. Three hearts, no shield, no armor upgrades, no fairies. I made it all the way to the final boss... And I just couldn't do it. Was just too much having to perfectly dodge everything.

Any other challenge run stories? Do you enjoy them? Tough or surprisingly easy moments? Lend your thoughts!
