Worst rental experience ever!
Had a reservation luxury suv. They didn’t have one. They finally found one at 615pm. Reservation was 2pm. They brought to my work. When I wanted to ask questions to the person who dropped off. She was very rude. “Sir I’m going home, don’t worry about anything.” I never signed a rental agreement they never charged my card.
Oh wait it gets better. We get on the road and can’t drive over 65. Speed limit 70. The Jeep Wagoner L is shaking so bad it felt dangerous. Well okay so I drive 65. No big deal.
Warning lights about manual shift unavailable. A warning beep every couple of minutes on a 4 hour drive. Very annoying, not to mention the anxiety of my wife for the whole ride. We make it to our destination.
The next morning start the Jeep Wagoner L and the get in our way. About 5 minutes into our ride. Every warning light and message starts populating the screen. Check engine light. Emergency brake unavailable service transmission….etc…. So we turn around and call road side assistance.
Oh yeah it’s July 4th. Apparently all closed except airports. And we must be with 15 miles for them to drop a car to us. Mind you we need something with 7-8 seats. After a lot of filibustering from road side reps it’s no help. Was told a regional manager would call. No escalation dept. no calls. They could not care that we were stranded with no car.
We find someone to take my wife to the airport 30 miles away. And pick up another car. We wait about 12 hours for the tow truck to pick up the broken jeep. Said they would be there at 1130 pm and showed up at 830 am the next day. No resolution as of yet. This was a personal rental. The company I work for also has a very big corporate account. Canceling both of them. Will never rent again. Zero F’s were given on their part. With zero resolution on their part. Seems as though they are the OLD Comcast of rental cars. SMH
