U of C application - thoughts?

Hi all, just got my lsat score this morning. A bit disappointed, I was scoring 168-170 on my three most recent practice tests and I scored a 164 on the June LSAT. However, I am aware that, according to U of C's JD website, 164 is the average score for admitted applicants, so I thought I'd share what my app would look like here and see what you all think. I'm mid 20s, born and raised in Calgary, for some context.

GPA: L2 3.84, consistent positive trend first to fifth year (approximately 2.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.7, 3.9 ish). Have a few academic scholarships.

LSAT: 164, taken once

Work: have more than ten jobs, the ones included in the app would be working as a tutor and barista throughout uni, sports instructor over a summer, teaching assistant for a semester, geoscience-related museum position over another summer, geophysics summer student and summer marketing position in the same year, and currently have been working as a geophysicist (in training) for a year and a half.

Volunteering/ECs: over 1000 hrs in a volunteer ambassador role that involved community engagement, public speaking, brand ambassadorship, and extensive training (I don't want to give too many details because I will dox myself lol), 200ish hours volunteering with community as a pageant queen (that was a fun side quest, I served as an MC multiple times), currently in two leadership roles with a volunteer committee that creates events for children with disabilities (about 100 hrs/year), volunteered with alberta health services for a year (90 hrs), and was involved in leadership positions in three clubs throughout university. Also ran a fundraising project last year that raised over $4000 for the canadian mental health association.

My essays would probably be about the firsthand involvement I was so fortunate to have with First Nations of Treaty 7 that reside within Alberta as part of one of my volunteering roles, my desire to protect and improve the lives of children (based on my personal experiences and knowledge of evolving technology), and i'm not sure what the last one would be yet.

This is a ton of words I know but I am very new to this process and would appreciate any thoughts and advice, thank you!

Explaining poor grades U of C

Hi all. I’ll be applying to u of c this fall, and looking through their website site I saw they look for upward trend in grades, calculate gpa based on most recent 60 credits, and ask you to consider if you’ve explained ‘poor patterns’ in GPA

Unfortunately, I had a terrible first year. Something like 65 average, around a 2.2 GPA. Oof. However, my upwards trend after that was very strong, improving from a 3.2 second year to a 4.0 last semester of my fifth year. My most recent 60 credits comes out to a 3.84.

My question is, do you think one bad year counts as a pattern I would need to explain? My grades consistently went up after that and I don’t want to bring attention to it if not necessary, and I also don’t want to take up space in my app when I could be talking about something more relevant.

If the rest of my resume is relevant, I worked part time through all of university and have been working full time for a year and a half, plus I was in multiple uni club leadership positions and have 1200+ volunteer hours. No LSAT score yet. Guess I want to know if that bad year will sink me if unexplained!

I know no one has the answers but I’d love to hear any advice, thank you!

Disclaimer - I work full time + have two volunteer leadership roles and many weekends end up volunteering or committing to additional stuff so I know I don’t have the most time to commit to studying, plus every test I’ve taken has been after work, usually on a Friday (I do not recommend, I am always so tired and it’s hard to think lol) but I am frustrated with my test scores just not getting better. So far I’ve scored, in order:

161 (diagnostic), 166, 165, 164

Which don’t get me wrong. Not unhappy about these scores! But I feel like I should be improving rather than hovering around the same score? I always always always review my answers, both right and wrong, and try to pinpoint flaws in my strategy, but somehow I’m stuck getting 2-4 Qs wrong for LR and 5-7 wrong for RC every time (if I get 21/27 on RC again I’ll lose my mind).

Any advice? I do know what I have a hard time with ‘what can be inferred’ questions in RC and LR and ‘find the similar argument style’ in LR (with this one I usually end up wasting so much time). I’m also a very fast reader but still end up dancing with time on RC, mostly because it takes me too long to decide if an answer is wrong.

This is a half vent/half asking for advice. I’m testing in June so I only have a few weeks left. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hi, had an accident during intercourse on 7th day of my period (average cycle length is 33 days and is usually 30-35 but can range from 25-40 days) and took plan B within three hours. Five days later, I had pretty heavy bleeding (equal to or more than a regular period) that lasted three days and mild but period-like cramps. Based on all that, I imagine pregnancy is unlikely? Now, I’m on day 39 of my cycle, and I’m wondering if I just really delayed my period? Was the bleeding just spotting or did it completely ‘reset’ my cycle?

Thanks. A bit nervous over here.
