Diving into this hobby with my newfound sobriety. Grabbed 5 packs today and pulled... what are the actual odds?

Okay so, for frame of reference- I'm completely new and I've been absolutely diving into Gundam with my new found sobriety. It's become my therapy and past time outside of work and career ambitions.

I hadn't watched Gundam since Wing and I'm 36 now. Can I just say...what are the odds of me getting getting one card from five packs for the one series I started the hobby and Fandom with. Gquuuuuux. From Freedom Ascension. I had been posting in subreddit asking about building a Clan Unity variation deck and have been working on it and I get the most ideal ex-resource card. I even opened a box and didn't get any pulls even close to this.

Just really excited about this whole new world of Gundam card game and gunpla and wanted to share a moment of ecstasy.

Hope I don't come off obnoxious. I just have Noone to share this with. What few friends I have left that are sober that I choose to keep around have no idea about Gundam

Anyway, take care over there 🫡

Newb question on hand painting vs spraying

Complete newb here. Planning on doing a custom ‘blacked out’ GN Arms Type-E build.

I had gotten a bunch of Tamiya and Mr. Color paints that are flat or metallic (for accents). I am returning the gloss/semi-gloss because it’s redundant since I’m applying TS-79 coating. I was initially planning on hand painting them with them brushes but I’ve been told this is extremely not ideal? Is it ‘doable’ or is spraying the core panels truly the best way? And then I would hand paint the accents with respective metallic/shiny colors?

Also, I cannot afford an esteemed airbrush kit so I was going to settle for Tamiya spray cans. Is this the most optimal workaround?

I know that when doing bright red or whatnot, I want to use a white base primer (which to my understanding is the equivalent of using 1000 grit sponge to prep the panel surface for large surface hand painting).

Basically, can I hand paint full panels for this kit and even kits like Red Gundam HG or should I pivot to the spray cans for base color and upgrade to airbrush kit down the road?

Newb here~seeking inputs on trajectory😌🙏🏻

As the title states, I am a complete newb.

I have been learning basics and mechanics using the GCG app and was an avid Hearthstone player so have a general understanding of how things go.

To begin, I have purchased Clan Unity, Zeon’s Rush, Iron Bloom and Flash of Radiance starter decks.

For a little flair, I also got the corresponding assemble sets.

Now, to begin curating variations to starter decks and unique decks ground up, I got a booster box of Phantom Aria, Dual Impact and some boosters of Freedom Ascension.

I am working on 5 decks atm. The goal is to have unique/varying identities and strategies (both red/green decks seem pretty similar, admittedly).
-a Red/Green variation of Clan Unity built around GD02-038
-a Red-Green variation of Zeon’s Rush
-a White/Red Shining Gundam deck (pulled a LR+ 🥹)
-a Blue Psycho Gundam deck
-a White/Purple Barbatos deck built around 1st form

I am atm, engaging in this subreddit for community and Exburst.dev for decks and checking out local card shops for tournaments (ATX).

Are there any other recommendations on other ways I can engage and enjoy GCG? Are there any mistakes in my overall deck building?

Any general advice or specific input would be greatly appreciated!!
