Advice on this seed grown avo?

Hello, I was wondering if any expert growers would be able to guide me with my avocado tree, it was grown from seed a good few years ago and despite me living in the UK zone 9a it has survived every winter outside and seems to be able to grow!

It's developed quite a lot over last year and this year so I'm wondering what I can do to continue letting it thrive and if I need to prune/how to prune it? I've seen a lot of people say they need to be cut back regularly but I'm too scared to damage it or do something wrong.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Wilko Bedminster appears to be on fire!

I saw smoke coming from inside, not sure how bad but there are 2 fire engines.

This is turning into an SOS 😭

I posted recently about a finger lime (this one pictured) as I had been storing it in my shed then later on discovered the leaves had all curled.

I was told firstly it could be heat stress so I've let it be outside and also that the soil/pot isn't good for the tree (I have citrus specific soil on the way). I've also given it a very deep watering as I was advised the soil could be hydrophobic - it's in the nursery pot & soil still whilst I wait for the proper stuff.

Unfortunately my lovely tree has continued to deteriorate and now has a lot of yellowing/dead leaves at the tips. I'm pretty sure this is exactly what my first finger lime did before it died completely. I have snipped some of the dead looking tips and found that those branches are still alive, the lower branches are loaded with flower buds and the tiny fruits on the tree are still firmly attached.

What is wrong with this?! I'm desperate to keep it and what's weird is all my other citrus seem to be doing alright. I'm in the UK zone 9a and it's currently 17c outside. Can anyone help at all, is it most likely just the need to repot or is there something more serious going on. I have included some leaf close ups as towards the centre of the plant the leaves look a lot better but lots of speckling which possibly indicates citrus mite but again I'm not totally sure.

Any help is massively appreciated 😅

Thoughts on my Calamondin cuttings?

Hello all,

A couple of months ago I snipped some branches from my calamansi/calamondin for some light pruning and shaping and then decided to plant them and see if I could get new cuttings!

These are them, they appear to have stayed alive for that time amazingly, I've kept the soil moist but not soaking and basically just kept them in a plastic cover for humidity in my shed. This is what I have now!

I would appreciate any advice anyone has about doing this as I've never taken/grown citrus cuttings before. Should I snip off the flower buds? They actually weren't there when I first planted the cuttings. When should I separate them and should I just keep checking the bottom of the pot for root development before moving? Should I put a hole in the bag to allow air to come in?

Also happy to answer any questions.

Help please! What's wrong with my finger lime?!

Why are the leaves of my finger lime curling like this? Is it ok? I really want to keep this alive! The last picture is of the shed I'm currently keeping inside of just as I'm in the UK and the weather has taken a downturn recently with lots of rain.

I thought maybe the issue was water as the pot was very dry so I watered yesterday but it seems to have made things worse if anything. I had a finger lime tree a good few years ago and from memory it basically did the same thing as this one before dying eventually. I believe I'm zone 9a - is it possible to grow these here? I absolutely love these so I'm desperate to keep mine alive, any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello! I was wondering if someone experienced with citrus/orange trees could help me, I bought this orange tree online and it has arrived but a lot of the new growth appears to be deformed and/or diseased. I have included pictures of the deformed leaves and it appears to only be affecting the new growth on top - the last 2 pics are of the undergrowth with healthy looking leaves.

Should I return this to the company and ask for a replacement? I ordered 4 other citrus trees from them (the site is called Yougarden in the UK and the others were a satsuma, mandarin, blood orange and finger lime) and they all appear to be in excellent health.

Any advice is greatly appreciated! I can also share more pics during the daytime and also compare pics with the blood orange I received which looks great.

Hello!

This isn't my cat, I was walking (UK) and stopped as I saw this cat, it was meowing but it kind of seemed like this was for a reason. Then I looked properly and thought first of all the bottom half of its body looks a bit rough and also thought he/she was super skinny?!

Are they ok? I was slightly concerned but they ended up hiding under a car so I left. Any advice on what to do? I felt bad for the poor thingy 🙁 appeared to be an older cat.
