Leather slipmats

Hey folks.

I've been having some static issues. More often than not Side A plays okay, but I can hear a noticeable static tear/rip sound when I go to swap sides, and generally have a worse experience on Side B.

I have a Hudson Hifi antistatic brush arm, and tried a zero stat, and obviously cleaned the records first, but more often than not, it's still a problem.

The last thing I can think to try is swapping my slip mat. I swapped the AT felt one that came with my LP3xBT for an "antistatic acrylic" mat, which aesthetically looks great but from googling, it seems like acrylic is not generally considered an anti static material :/

So that has me thinking about trying either leather or cork. Can I ask for some opinions on how these handle static and recommendations for specific ones I can buy? Leather sounded encouraging but I also read the shed a lot, so feels like I'd be trading one issue for another.

Thanks!

FIIO FT1 Build Quality Jssue

I've enjoyed my FIIO FT1s but when I got them I had some minor concerns about the build quality, and 10 months later they are kinda falling apart at the trim.

Has anyone else had this problem, and how was FIIOs process? I'm in the UK for context

I bought Tool 10,000 Days Bootleg So You Don't Need To

£40 on Juno, thought I'd give it a go since Tool seem determined not to do any official represses any time soon. Released as "Tool Disectional"unofficial press.

It came in the worst condition of any record I've bought new, noisy as all hell even after cleaning, at least two inexplicable skips per side. If it wasn't noisy it'd actually be an okay sounding record, although I do suspect there was no mastering for vinyl.

Anyway, maybe my tolerance for hiss and pops is too low, but it's the worst sounding record I own - buyer beware Tool fans! 😂😊
