New sidearm
Picked up a new side arm for the BP season. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but sure am looking forward to it.

Just a fun, quick evening walk. Waited until the temp broke and it started to cool down. Girls always love getting out for a pre dinner walk anyway.

Hoping you all had a safe and happy 4th of July!
Took the step-son and the dogs for a trip to the dunes yesterday. Other than being ridiculously windy, it was a pretty nice day. After playing on the dunes for a while, we went to the lake below and let the dogs have some fun splashing around. Needless to say, they were pretty suckered out by the end of the day.
First summer event since I started playing. It's been a much different experience than the winter event, but it's still be quite enjoyable. I have a feeling my captain will have a hard time returning to regular duty after this!
Just the girls being wild and free
Just the girls enjoying a trip to our property in the mountains. They would stay here always if they could, as would I.
Kaia's paw was finally feeling better, and she seemed to be back to her old self after a few days of recovery. Decided to take the girls for a short walk down by the river. They got a nice little walk in, and got to play in the water a bit. By the time we got back home, the were done and crashed out.
(Threw in some B&W versions of some of the pics for funsies)
Kaia's been taking it easy while recovering from her injured paw ( I viciously stepped on her footsie the other day 😭). Today she hung out with the bunnies and just relaxed, enjoying being outside. She's actually doing much better. Still has a bit of a limp, but is back to her overall mischievous self for the most part.
I recently started a new job. I now get up at 4 AM to get ready for work. My girls get up with me and follow along as I get ready (they hate I no longer work from home). Just before I left for work, I popped back into the bedroom to kiss my wife goodbye and tell her I love her.
I don't know what I was thinking, except that I just wasn't, but I turned around to leave and stepped right on top of my poor little Kaia. I had left the lights off of course since my wife was still sleeping, and was in complete darkness when I turned around to leave. I didn't see her at all and came straight down on her paw. When she yelled my heart sank cause I knew how hard I had just stepped on her.
My wife knowing I had no option but to leave so I wouldn't be late to my new job said she look after her and take her to the vet when they opened. She sent me this video when they got back home. Again, my heart immediately broke thinking the worst. Fortunately, no broken bones and most likely just some bruised soft tissue. Vet said keep it wrapped for a few days and watch the swelling. Best outcome, she's back to her old self in 5 - 7 days. Otherwise we have to take her back in.
I am just the worst dog dad ever. At least that's how I'm going to feel for a long while. Needless to say I gave her tons of loves and spoiled her rotten as soon as I got home. From the amount of kisses she gave me and immediately curling up on my lap when I sat down, I think she forgave me.
We were supposed to be heading to the mountains so the dogs could run wild. Instead our car broke down and we had to wait to be rescued. Poor little Imani was very disappointed she didn't get to go play in the woods. We did happen to find a creek close by where they got to play while we waited, but it just wasn't the same for her. Kaia's just happy to be anywhere.
