Have you ever felt like the other major deities of the Regent Court did not get enough love compared to Castellos/Adean and Corin? Do you fantasize about uniting the EoA and Cannor not under the lead of Corin or Adean, but rather under Falah, Nathalyne, Begga, or any of the other gods? Do you love religious bordergore, turmoil, and violence?

Then this is the mod for you! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3797890521

This mod does a lot of things and I might not be able to cover it all, but I will try to mention the all of the most important aspects.

The New Religions

We have a new religion for each major deity, barring Castellos/Adean who are represented by the Regent Court (now renamed to Unified Court), and Corin obviously represented by Corinite (now renamed Corinite Court). That is 11 new religions in total!

In (my) lore, all of these new religions are henotheistic like Corinite, still worshipping the other gods but focusing on their own one as the primary one. Regent Court reveres Adean as the head of the Court, but like the base game it is a more symbolic position and this interpretation of the Court is not as henotheistic as the others, hence the "Unified" Court.

Their Mechanics

https://preview.redd.it/02wnsb0iu8oh1.jpg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e40c1fae0b8353938ca6e05a818e48e77eac54d8

These new religions have two integral religious mechanics. The first and more important of the two are the church aspects.

Like Anglicanism in basegame or The Hunt in Anbennar, each religion has unique church aspects. However, that is not all. Under specific conditions, you will be able to access other religion's church aspects as well! The most common case of this is a country of your religion conquering that province and converting it, allowing everyone of your religion to use it's aspects.

Even though Regent Court and Corinite obviously do not use this system, if you conquer their holy temples (New Adea for Regent Court and Rottenstep for Corinite, which I chose because it is place of Corin's first death and resurrection), you also get access to some unique aspects. With 5 aspects for each religion, that's a total of 65 aspects you can have if you convert every temple!

These aspects can range from immediate money in exchange for inflation, to reducing AE with everyone you know, or even special casus bellis against specific targets, but honestly most of it is 10 year long modifiers... sorry. Some of them are really good though! And I tried to add as much lore from the wiki as I could.

The other major way of getting these aspects is through secondary religions, the second major religious mechanic.

Every Court religion (including Corinite and Regent Court this time!) can now pick a second religion, but be aware! If this second religion is not a Court religion (no, Infernal Court and Ravelian do not count), you will get nasty debuffs (-5 tolerance of the true faith, -20% church loyalty, -1000% church power). While it isn't enough to ruin your game, you definitely don't want it, especially if you want to play around with aspects. You will also get province modifiers in your newly "accepted" provinces basically reverting those effects. The AI will get the province debuffs but not the country ones because the AI is dumb and you can't tell it what second religion to pick.

But if you do pick another Court religion, you will have access to all of their aspects, regardless of the temple province's religion. What this mechanic attempts to symbolize is duotheism and coequal godship. After syncretizing with a Court religion, you will have an event giving you a few options to pick how you plan to justify elevating another god of the Court to the position equal to that of your main one. You can just say it was an act of state pragmatism and an attempt to placate a large portion of your populace, which will strengthen your authority but mildly annoy the clergy and the people. You can justify it through deep theological justifications, relying on the clergy, which will make them very happy but the people will find it too academic and hard to relate. Or you can assert they were secret lovers *gasp* and make the clergy hate your guts but the people love a romantic tale!

Alternatively, if you read up on your Anbennar lore, you can pick some options which make more theological sense and don't need much justification, like Nerat and Falah or Adean and Minara, giving only positive modifiers.

Spawning

But how do these religions spawn? Well, after the "Corinite Proclamation" event, every country will get an event where they can pick any of the new Court religions, Corinite, or stay as Regent Court. AI options are predetermined but the player is free to pick whatever they want.

Every country in the Cannorian religion group will get a casus belli allowing them to force convert other religions for dirt cheap (in exchange for not being able to demand basically anything else).

Each religion will also get a religious center at their temple province to ensure some more religious chaos.

Many spawnables in Aelantir will also get an option to change their religion to align with their country after this event (Neratica can go Neratic Court, Beggaston can go Begganite Court, pirates can go Nathalynic Court etc.), which the AI will always pick, or stay as Regent Court. Port Palegold gets the option to go either Nathalynic or Aranite, and will get access to both aspects always, if you know you know.

Empire of Anbennar

How about the EoA? Well, it is a huge mess now, but there are many safeguards in place to ensure it is as painless for the player as possible.

Once the leagues form, the EoA religion will be the emperor's one and the opposing league will be whichever religion which has the most members following it in the EoA (barring the emperor's religion). If the player joins the opposing league and has the biggest army, they can "usurp" it and make it their own religion (provided it is in the Cannorian group, obviously, and they will have to rejoin the league due to engine shenanigans). But they have to act quick, as after some time everyone who likes the emperor will be forced on their side, everyone who hates them on the other, and the war will be forcefully started. Once the event happens to force almost everyone to pick a side, the player can no longer usurp the league.

Once the war ends, the winner gets a simple option. Keep the religious peace or force your own state religion as the EoA one. Keeping the peace makes everyone happy but loses you IA, whereas forcing your religion makes everyone hates your guts but you get some IA. AI will always pick the religious peace option.

You might ask "what is the point then if most of the time it will end in peace, especially without player involvement?" Well, the winners get a huge bonus to their reasons to elect and heretic missionary strength for 100 years, whereas the losers get the opposite. Draw it and everyone gets a minor debuff instead. So winning the war is still quite important.

Finally, while the peace is active, you can force the EoA religion to be yours if you are emperor. It will cost a lot of IA and make everybody hate you but you can, if you really want to for some reason.

Reunifying the Court

After the splintering has happened, if you own or have a subject own all 13 religious sites while having them all be your own religion, you can proclaim the reunification of the Court. This will give you two options (if you aren't already Regent Court).

One, you can choose to stay with your own interpretation of the Court, getting big buffs to church power. Corinite gets buffs to local organization costs instead, and unlocks all of them.

Two, you can choose to convert back to Regent Court, giving you every upgraded version of the deities. On top of that, you get some brand new ones made by me for those that did not have upgraded versions, and the ability to switch between them anytime you want (no more pesky cooldowns)

Wrapping Up

There are some more minor mechanics and additions here and there (like unique diplomatic actions and Falahite interactions with monstrous races) but that is the gist of it. I tried to make all of the mission trees that had to do with Regent Court and personal deities compatible with the mod, but I wouldn't trust me. Your safest bet is probably picking a nation without a MT, or one without focus on religion.

If you have bugs feel free to report them but honestly I'm kind of done with this project because I changed PCs and that has taken much of my focus (that is also why there are so few screenshots, I forgot to save all the neat ones I took to an external drive. Thankfully didn't forget the mod itself lol). Unless the bugs are truly game breaking or easy to fix I probably won't fix it. Feel free to report them though, I might. I was going to clean up some of the code but I've lost interest. Although if someone recommends a feature that is really cool, easy to implement, and plays nice with the pantheon lore, I might add it.

First D4 mission and thoughts (D4-1 reckless solo)

i actually wanted to do complexity 2 (didn't unlock 3 yet) but this was the only mission i had in the 2 biomes the game wanted me to collect data and cameras from. other than dying 3 times to the boss because the cave gen was kinda bad and i forgot i had shield gen for half of the fight (i even forget it while playing gunner in drg i'm just built stupid), it was much easier than what i expected, and i couldn't really tell the difference between it and d3. i've certainly had way harder d3 missions than this for sure

which gets me to my main thought about this game, it's not very fun because of its core gameplay loop. i'm not saying it's a bad game i'd still give it a 6 or a 7 out of 10 but compared to drg where you meticulously designed your build to have all of your tools synergize with and cover each other's weaknesses, here you just feel at the mercy of rng. if you don't get good weapons or good upgrades then you're going to fight every battle tooth and nail. but if you get a charge pistol, a shocker, lots of red sugar upgrades or drills with lots of good melee upgrades then you can cruise through 90% of the game and be just fine. both bad and good runs feel like it is dictated by rng and not your build crafting, so it feels entirely out of your control. bad runs do not feel like your fault and get frustrating, whereas good runs don't feel like your accomplishment so you can't feel proud of it. i guess that's an issue i have with the roguelike/lite genre as a whole though

there are lots of other minor things on top of that like class roles feeling much more vague than drg, enemies being not as fun to shoot at, constant pressure not allowing you to even open a workbench to look at upgrades for 5 secs without having your ass bitten, and boss fights being drawn out and janky (idk who thought players would have fun juggling gunk seeds while being chased down by a horde and spammed with attacks from a boss). but if it was just these minor things i had a problem with i'd be more ambivalent because all of it feels like things which can be fixed or reworked, but like i said the core gameplay loop feels off and unsatisfying, and i don't know how you can fix that without turning the game into a different one entirely. it's not a great feeling to realize you're fantasizing about the weapons and abilities in this game getting added to drg more than you're thinking about your next run in rogue core

it's not a great game. it's not bad but i honestly had way higher expectations from gsg as the developers of drg. sitting at 60% on steam is kinda crazy to me though, it's a "mostly positive" game not a "mixed" one for me

Chinese supermod issue

I wanted to try out the Chinese supermod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2939497607) but I can't get it to work. When I install it, it shows that it's taking up negative space on my drive, and when I try to load the game it loads up basegame eu4. I tried unsubscribing and resubscribing, and even copying all of the mods files to a local mod and booting it up that way, and despite recognizing the actual size of the mod, it still doesn't work. Did anyone else have similar issues with this mod or with another mod? How did you fix it?

EDIT: fixed this issue by following this comment https://www.reddit.com/r/Anbennar/comments/17ff43k/comment/k6japg4 no idea why you need a separate mod manager for it but it is what it is. leaving the post up for other lost souls

Best Harpylen Former?

I know Ayarallen is in the best position to form it, but which harpy country has the most unique content which can carry over to Harpylen?

Thanks in advance
