Meet Booger (A5777358), a 7-year-old, 53-pound Great Pyrenees currently at the Palmdale Animal Shelter.
Booger’s deadline is tomorrow, but there is some hope. AdoptaPyrenees is working to help him, and we’re hoping to see this sweet senior Pyr get the second chance he deserves.
Like many older shelter dogs, Booger has some medical needs that will need to be addressed once he’s safe, but right now the priority is making sure he gets that opportunity.
I wanted to share his story here in hopes that more people will see him. Whether through networking, sharing, or simply keeping him in your thoughts, every bit of visibility helps.

Let’s help this boy get the chance to spend his golden years in a home instead of a shelter.
Picked up a 4.2 oz bottle of Sedley from the Jomashop PDM sale. I was very close to pulling the trigger on Percival instead. While it’s definitely appealing, the DNA is a little too basic for my taste. Just my opinion.
Sedley feels more unique and has more depth, which ultimately made the decision for me. No regrets on this one.
UPDATE: Ocean is safe and progressing well in board & train. His sister, Mellow, has already been adopted. Ocean will be in board & train for 3 more weeks and will need a place to land after that. We are looking for an experienced foster or adopter with no other dogs in the home. If you think you can help, please reach out to me.
Ocean and Mellow’s owner (the mom) passed away, and shortly after, her husband was evicted from the home and abandoned them in the backyard.
For the past month, we’ve been showing up every single day to feed them, bring fresh water, and make sure they’re okay.
We’ve now raised $2,800 — enough to cover Ocean’s board & train.
But here’s the issue:
The rescue will not take Ocean in without a committed foster lined up.
So even though the funding is there, we are stuck without a foster.
What they need:
Ocean (male, ~5 yrs, Lab/Great Pyrenees mix)
Needs a committed foster so he can enter board & train and then transition into a rescue-backed placement.
Mellow (female, ~5 yrs)
Fully ready for adoption now. Sweet, social, and closely bonded with Ocean.
They are a bonded pair, and ideally we’d love to keep them together—but right now, the priority is getting them safe.
We are out of time. If we cannot secure placement, they will end up at the shelter.
