Best towns to live in outside Edinburgh?

I’m a US American who will be beginning a postgrad degree at UoE this fall and will be looking for a private rental (pets). What are the best towns to look into, outside of Edinburgh, for a student to commute to campus (I’m thinking <40min commute but let me know if that’s unreasonable).

EDIT: Not looking for cheaper rent, just trying to cast a broader net because I’ll be moving in August and am heeding the warning that housing becomes especially short during that time.

Best pre-glued clusters for short, sparse lashes?

I recently tried the Tatti "Petite Natural Pre-glued" lashes and felt that the strip of the glue at the base of the lashes was too thick for me. I suspected because my lashes are so sparse and thin that there was a ton of glue still exposed after application — when I'd try to clamp the clusters and my natural lashes, my applicator would get stuck.

So: are there any lashes that have a thin band of glue that works well? Or should I give up on pre-glued and look into bond and seal? Not sure what is best for my sparse lashes; I just looooved the idea of pre-glued bc application was a breeze otherwise!

pre-glued lash clusters sticky after application

i just applied my first lash clusters (tatti brand, pre-glued) and while the process seemed to go amazingly quickly, my only issue is that my eyes are a bit sticky afterwards. the lashes feel comfortable otherwise on my eyes but when i blink, some of the adhesive is making my upper and lower lashline stick a bit. it’s not painful or anything, though! and doesn’t feel like anything is in my eye.

i followed the steps on the box but is there something else i should do when finished applying to help with the stickiness? or will that just go away on its own? i’m hoping to get a few days of wear out of these but now i’m scared when i sleep my eyes might glue themselves shut lol

Can anyone identify the artist who painted this piece of the Chess Pavilion in Lincoln Park?

Does anyone know who painted this? It looks to be the Chess Pavilion. I am trying to avoid opening the back of the frame because it’s wrapped. My mom gave this to me with no additional info lol

Looking for a historical fiction book that either has a guild member as a protagonist or in some other way heavily features guilds during the Medieval period. I watched a video about guilds and now would like to read about how they might’ve functioned in some reality :)

I am deciding between UCL’s MSc Digital Anthropology and Edinburgh’s MSc Digital Sociology. Would love to hear about a UCL alum’s experiences in the program if there’s one around!
