Toddlers and very young children screaming in business class what to do???

Currently on a 4.5 hour train ride from Montreal to Toronto and on my car there is a family of four including a toddler that looks around 2 years old, another young child that’s slightly older (4 yo ish) plus their parents. We’re barely 2 hours in but the 2 kids will not stop screaming and screeching in an otherwise very quiet car. Tbh I don’t really blame the kids but rather the parents who do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it… before the train even departed the older kid was running back and forth between the car, and since the car is half empty the other toddler is climbing to other empty seats and being quite disruptive while their parents just watch. Some passengers including myself look visibly annoyed but I don’t know what to do about it since I feel like raising concerns to the service attendant will make me look like an asshole. There’s 2.5 hours left to go and I cannot handle it… I booked business classes specifically to avoid this situation 😑

Is the male loneliness really that bad single straight men are invading women’s BFF??

I have premium so I can see who swiped right on me. I made a similar post a while back on my city’s subreddit but it’s getting worse. Why are there so many single straight men who put “woman” in their bio tag but their pics suggest otherwise?? And tbh I doubt these ppl are looking for actual friends cuz a lot of the time their bio or pics (making sexual innuendo jokes, shirtless mirror pics, listing height etc) imply they’re looking for more. Sometimes they even complimented on my profile with comments regarding appearance meaning they’re definitely not there for platonic friendships 🤮 For these pathetic creeps do you think women will want to swipe right on you with obvious creepy intentions underneath?? What are you thinking?? Sometimes I would swipe left and report the really bad ones but somehow some time later they’re back, meaning they’re constantly creating new profiles… Why don’t these creepy dudes go form their own friend group??

Aminess Korcula Heritage Hotel vs Lesic Dimitri Palace in Korcula??

I'm currently debating whether I should stay at the Aminess Korcula Heritage Hotel or the Lesic Dimitri Palace for my one day in Korcula Island. Both are in the centre of old town and close to the dock which is great. The Heritage Hotel was renovated earlier this year and the photos of the rooms and hotel look really nice. In comparison the Lesic Dimitri Palace doesn't have that many pictures however it seems to be more of a boutique hotel and has great reviews on google. Thoughts??

Do you guys think Hermes Bolide bag is inappropriate for corporate office for an earlier/mid level associate?

This is more like a debate/discussion based on a conversation that I had/ So my mom gave me her Hermes Bolide bag last year. Last week I'm talking with her over the phone and she was asking how's the bag and I told her it had become my primary bag that I carry to office. She was a bit surprised and was like "You carry that to WORK??" and think it's a little bit too flashy for someone my age(late 20s) and seniority(early to mid level associate). My response was I think the bag itself is very subtle and it's not as recognizable as a Kelly or Birkin so most ppl wouldn't know it's an Hermes unless they're actually into this kind of stuff. Second, I work at a tech office with a lot of nerdy men so they probably won't give it a second look and will just assume it's some random bag I got from a bookstore. Even a lot of my women colleagues don't really seem to be the type that's into this kinda of stuff so I thought it's pretty safe to carry whatever I want. My mom basically said "Okay but just be cautious and avoid drawing negative attention". I'm wondering what's ppl's thought on this??

Is my schedule too tight and should I reshuffle some days between Dubrovnik and Hvar??

Heyy I’m visiting end of the month to early August and this is what I have planned (1.5 days in Split, 2 days in Hvar & 3 days in Dubrovnik)

Day 1: arrive in Split late in the afternoon from another EU country, walk around old town
Day 2: visit Krka National Park from Split
Day 3 & 4: Hvar, already booked 2 nights at Hotel Moeesy. Hvar old town, beaches, Pakleni islands, beach clubs etc…
Day 5-7: Dubrovnik. It’s a 4 hour boat ride from Hvar so I’ll arrive at Dubrovnik early to late afternoon. Old town, city walls and Mount Srd. Keep in mind I’m staying at Lapad instead of Old Town since the hotels are more modern with amenities like outdoor pools so that needs to be put into consideration
Day 8: early morning flight back home

My main question is should I do 3 days in Hvar and 2 days in Dubrovnik instead of the current 2 days in Hvar and 3 in Dubrovnik?? Cuz apparently the old town in Dubrovnik is pretty small. Also if I do decide to do 3 days in Hvar is the worth splurging on the Maslina Resort, read it in some recent posts there are ant infestation plus the service isn’t that great. Thank you!!!

I honestly feel so lonely in our tech office

A bit of a vent I guess... I'm currently in my late 20s and I work at a financial institution. However the satellite office in the city I live in is specifically a tech office, so the vast majority is tech and some HR (but they're pretty segregated from the rest of the office). The actual content of my work honestly isn't that bad, but lately I've been feeling pretty lonely at work. As expected, our office is predominantly male. The rest of my immediate team are all men. My manager is nice but he's a middle aged 40 something dude and I find myself really hard to relate to him beyond work topics. Sometimes we do go out for after work drinking with the team (4 ppl) and I just feel like I'm awkwardly sitting there feeling like I'm pulling out my teeth. I realize we have very different hobbies and I tbh dont really want to talk about programming languages or future of AI at a bar after work. In terms of my division and floor, there are a lot of middle aged dudes whether single, partnered or with kids. They seem to bond well together as a group and sometimes I overhear them talking about current events like Iran, Trump (I live in Canada and he's pretty disliked here so I guess it's not the controversial to talk about those topic at work here), SpaceX IPO etc... Occasionally they invite others to sit with them at lunch but I always politely decline since I read the news myself and I don't really think I want to hear a recap or thoughts from my coworkers. I just find the lack of feminine energy a bit isolating...

There are social clubs at my office such as WIT, pride etc... that hosts events sometimes and I do go to those which are great and allows me meet other people from different teams. I myself is an active member of a hobby club at work and we do have events once per month. And occasionally I do go out with my fellow committee members from said club to lunch or dinner after work. But those kind of things happen every now and then and I'm talking about my immediate team/division/floor

In terms of the women in the office, a lot of them are actually moved here rather recent from India or China so there's definitely a language and cultural barrier. We can't even bond over little things like the newest season of Euphoria or Love Island and sometimes you try to say something quirky but it just doesn't land cuz they don't understand the cultural reference. There was another woman when I first joined the team and we quickly became lunch buddies but she left and went to silicon valley after 1.5 year. I became friend with another woman on my floor and frequently go out for lunch or even go out after work but she recently transferred to our headquarter so I'm all alone again when I'm on my floor

Sometimes I feel like maybe it's because my hobbies don't traditionally really fit in with people in the tech. Some of colleagues like scifi, fantasy and video games which I don't really care about that much(I do love game of thrones and the world of ice and fire lore tho!). Whereas I have pretty basic early gen z/late millennial women hobbies such as travelling, art & design, reading, fashion & beauty, pop culture and reality tv, I'm also an active "Giggly Squad" listener LOL. Honestly I feel like I'll fit in and blend in much better in other departments such as sales or marketing but just not in tech

Outside of work I do have friends but I find my time at the office feeling very lonely (especially on my floor). There are some days I just DREAD being there. Maybe it's a sign it's time for me to move on and start applying somewhere else??

Being LGBT has made me grow a strong disdain towards people living in or migrating from religious conservative countries

Both a rant and a confession tbh.. A lot of queer people like to only blame MAGA and its adjacent for why LGBT rights aren't really in a good state right now and give conservative migrants a pass since they're also "oppressed" by the system. I do agree to some extent however some of them don't seem to realize a huge chunk of rest of the world actually have very backwards view on us, especially MENA, South Asia. Not as extreme but also not great are some parts of Eastern Europe, South East Asia, East Asia & South America.

I'm fortunate that I pass well enough and live in a pretty progressive city in a pretty progressive country in North America so I don't really face any queerphobia in my day to day life. I have a decent paying job, an apartment, supportive friends and family. Get to pursue my hobbies and travel relatively often. So overall I am happy with life. However, there have been multiple instances throughout my life that made me feel the way I stated in the title

- I was born in a pretty laid back east asian country (first country in Asia to legalize same sex marriage, constantly in the news these days due to geopolitical tensions) but moved here after grade 6 so I do understand Mandarin, occasionally overhearing or listening to some Asian peers and elders (Yes, even those who are currently living in Canada) talk about LGBT people in their native tongue truly disgusts me..

- When I first moved to Canada my parents sent me to a private boarding school, before transitioning I was a very scrawny and severely undersized boy surprisingly I didn't face any bullying local students mostly left me alone. The only bullying and verbal abuse I did face was from another international student from a gulf country. He would constantly try to pick on me and call me things like 'f*g' for almost a year luckily other students did step up for me plus the faculty members did step in so he eventually stopped

- The past fews years there's been several nation wide anti-LGBT protests across different cities. While the protests themselves are organized by Christian fundamentalists, conspiracy theorists type. A huge significant portion of the protesters are actually migrants from MENA or south asia. Search up '1 million march for children' and look at the demographic and you'll get the picture

- Things that are happening in the news. Such as Muslim majority city Hamtrack, Michigan banning pride flags. Somali immigrants voting for Trump cuz they don't like queer people and now Trump is sending ICE to them so FAFO I guess

- When I'm travelling in Europe I sometimes get catcalled or said really sexually explicit stuff by MENA migrants. It's even worse when they're a group of young men. Sadly I'm not the only one feeling that way we're seeing a rise of far right parties across EU and immigration is a big drive behind that rise

- Canada has seen a huge surge of immigration from South Asia in the last 5 years and a lot of are now reporting a lot of inappropriate behaviour such as creepy blatant staring, or groping in public spaces and unfortunately I've had experienced those as well

- Social media, famous trans celebrities like Hunter Schafer and Alex Consani get so much hate on their insta for simply existing. Just look at the comments section when there's a post featuring them. Since I'm currently watching Euphoria S3 insta is showing me a lot of posts that features Hunter, the comment section is usually a mess and a lot of the people making those vile comments are people living in countries with more backwards view on LGBT people

There are plenty more examples and I've noticed lost a lot of empathy towards those people and pretty much became desensitized towards their wellbeing. It changed how I view them in private. It used to be "innocence until proven guilty" but now it's more like "they likely have backwards view towards women & lgbt people until proven otherwise". I'm not forcing them to support LGBT causes and march in pride parades but more so just leave us the fk alone and live and let live, but a lot of them can't seem to even do that. End of rant, this will likely receive a lot of backlashes but I feel like I need to get it out

Need advice, I’m being charged with interests I don’t think I should be

So I was initially charged with vacant home taxes for 2024 which I paid however I didn't realize I'm qualified for one of the exemptions. After giving the city a call and waiting on the line for over 90 minues I got a refund for my VHT via transferable payments/credits. This happened in spring 2025. At that time I havn't paid for my property taxes for 2025 yet and my plan was to use the transferrable credits that will soon be refunded to me to pay for my 2025 property tax. However, it somehow took the city almost a year to ACTUALLY transfer my refunds meanwhile my unpaid property tax balance was just sitting there racking up interests.

Fast forward to last month I finally received my transferred credits/payment for my VHT last month while the interests & penalty fees alone from the balance that I owed accumulated to almost $1000. And earlier I checked both my unpaid property tax of 2025 and the $1000 interest were deducted from the refund credits that I finally received.

My question is.. I don't think I should be paying that $1000... I was going to use the transferable credits that I THOUGHT would be refunded to me almost immediately to pay for rest of the stuff I owe. It's not my fault the city took fking forever to process the refund while my unpaid property tax was just sitting there and slowly accumulating interests... Is there something I can do?? Maybe call the city again and explain the situation? Why do I not get interests from the municipal for the refund that they owe me for almost a year but when I owe them money i have to pay interest this is absurd

My brow tint faded after a week??? Did I do something wrong

So I got my brows tinted last week at a professional studio. And as instructed I avoided hot showers in the first 48 hours and when I remove my makeup and apply skincare or even wash my face I intentionally go around the brows to avoid touching that area. My brows were PERFECT for the first 3 days I didn't even need to draw my brows in the morning. However, I wash my hair every 3 days, and on my hairwash days I'm in the shower significantly longer with hot steamy water. On my first hair wash day after the appointment, I thought it's been well over 48 hours but after hopping out of the shower I've noticed some pretty noticeable fading especially on the skin areas near the edge of my actual brows that were tinted. It stilled looked okay I just had to fill in the chipped areas with brow pencils again. Fast forward to earlier, I just washed my hair again and when I came out of the shower the tint on my skin is mostly gone. And now my brows look significantly thinner than the first few days when I had the perfect brows. Did I do something wrong?? It's only been a week and even in the shower I reminded myself not to rub my eyebrows
