Im moving to Edinburgh for school in September 2026 and I plan on visiting a couple of weeks before term starts to find somewhere to live. I am unable to stay in student housing so I have to find private housing somewhere nearby. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations on areas I should stay that are affordable and safe for someone unfamiliar with the area (from USA).

I would like to avoid staying in a hotel while I look for housing just because it will be more expensive but im not sure where to look for private housing. As of now I am looking on Hostel World and google.

Hi hi! 2nd Lib 1st time camping ! I have a 3 day pass but am wondering when they allow you to come set up camp? If my pass is Friday-Sunday am I able to come on Thursday and set up? If so what time do they open the gates ? I saw online it said 10am but I’m not sure if that’s for the actual festival AND camping or just one or the other.

Does anyone have any experience getting hand tattoos with a job that requires constant hand washing? (Ie. hospitality) If so, do you recommend waiting to get the tattoos or is it possible for them to heal properly while washing so much?
