Hi I’m a student going into second yr for medical science. I wanted general advice and help for my course selections😭😭 (with keeping in mind that I have to study for DAT and prerequisites for dentistry.)

Right now this is what I got.

Semester 1
Stats
Orgo

Semester 2
Methods
Cell bio
Genetics

Biochem I already took during summer.
I haven’t taken an English course (pre sure it’s a prerequisite for dentistry)
I need to take 5 electives (since I need full 5 credit)

I’m still not sure if I’ll move forward to the 3rd yr modules or transfer into just a bio major. (GPA is my first priority)

My questions are:
- some people are saying methods for 1st sem is good since cell bio and genetics have 2 midterms and it’s hard to balance that. However, some people are saying sem2 methods will be easier.
- when do u rlly prep for DAT? Idk if i know this correctly but most people start their prep like beginning of second semester and take the test during the summer to apply for dentistry in 3rd yr. I thought u typically need like 3 months to study for DAT… isn’t booster like that??
- my study habits was pretty bad during first yr, and I aim to fix it before 2nd yr starts. But bc of that my 1st priority is to get my gpa back up asap. So I’m thinking of electives but literally what electives??

- linguistics
- food and nutrition
- Italian for travellers
- Japanese

Maybe
- Greek mythology
- Health sci?

I’m honestly so perplexed abt what exactly to do. Please help a fellow mate😭🙏🏼
