Algeria is more and more conservative and that's it.

I always read or hear ppl say '' Algeria isn't Afghanistan'' '' Algeria wasn't like this'' or whatever.

But until proven otherwise most algerians want a country like Afghanistan rather than something else.

I'm sorry to break it to many of you guys but Algeria isn't Didouche Mourad street.

The society is evolving to be more and more conservative, women have less and less space in public and may as well have no space in the future.

Many of the younger generation are openly very conservative salafi people, for whom islam is everything and the only way to live their life. No outside rule is relevant.

If you ever talk about any knowledge theory or anything outside of Quran you are occidentalized.

Even most of you feminist girls wear hijab and dont remember a single woman who got burned by acid to stop hijab being forced on them.

What algerians actually want is shariah, women in houses and all of that.

Kids of intellectuals from the 90s, how do you see Algeria now ?

Many intellectuals fought for universal values in Algeria during the black decade.

Some died, some fled, some kept living in Algeria.

Some try to change things, some developped hate, some don't care and just enjoy life..

But what about their kids?

I know reddit has mostly young people, so I hope I can gather opinion if some of you are around here.

If you aren't concerned, go your way.
