I’m drawing Pomni like she got dropped into a PS2 horror game

Spooktober got me 😭
I wanted this to feel like a screenshot from some deeply cursed PS2 horror game where every EXIT sign somehow makes you less confident you’re getting out.
Still very much a WIP. I’m working on the rendering/lighting next, but I’m already having way too much fun with the fake UI and environmental details.
Current status:
Objective: Find the EXIT!!!
Sanity: ???
Item: Plastic Key
Save? No Signal
I’m also tempted to figure out what actually happens if her sanity hits 0 👀

Deslopped one AI image and accidentally got emotionally attached to the characters 💀

this started as me seeing yet another AI image on Pinterest and thinking “okay wait, the character concept is kinda cute but I want to actually DRAW them”
so I redrew them from scratch, changed a bunch of the design choices, and then accidentally got attached enough to keep making art of them 😭
anyway meet Raye & Bunny. they escaped the slop factory and now they have lore

[WIP] Looking for critique on composition, foreshortening and visual hierarchy in my rhythm-game illustration

About 10.5 hours into this monster of an illustration and I'd love some fresh eyes before I move on to final shading and lighting!

It's a fictional 2000s-inspired rhythm game called NEON NOISE!! This particular stage takes place in a chaotic food court.

I'm aiming for exaggerated perspective, a busy arcade aesthetic and the feeling of an actual gameplay screenshot.

I did not use a reference btw.

A few things I'd especially appreciate feedback on:

- Does the giant foreground sneaker read convincingly, or is something off with the foreshortening?
- Is the main character still the focal point, or are the background and UI competing too much?
- Are there any composition or readability issues I should address before finishing?

Constructive criticism and specific suggestions are very welcome. I've included some earlier progress pictures so you can see how the composition developed.

I tried making a fake 2000s anime screenshot

tried making a fake 2000s anime screenshot and got extremely carried away with it lol
I ended up spending about 8.5 hours on the stream working on this and I’m really happy with how grimy and late-night-convenience-store it ended up feeling, what do yall think?
