He made a public post on Facebook, today 6/29 stating:

"One year ago today my life changed. This day last year I was involved in a serious accident. Today also marks one year sober for me.

There has been multiple inaccurate news reports and an investigation that was incomplete and inconsistent. There is missing information that was not reported nor talked about. This goes to show you can’t always believe the first thing you read. My heart does go out to the other family involved and I know I made my mistake and should have known better but that doesn’t mean what the other drivers actions were are not a factor, I was forced off the road multiple times by the other driver and yes I was brake checked by him, I tried to get away multiple times but the other driver would not let me, my only intention was to get away and get home. Myself and the other driver both are involved and both made poor decisions there are 3 people who know exactly what happened that day, myself my passenger and the other driver.

I have owned my involvement and have done everything asked of me all while seeking help on my own. I have gone through treatment as well as currently going through counseling at the VA for PTSD. Through the VA I am working on becoming a peer to peer counselor to help others and use my situation as a positive so others do not go down that path.

Over the past year I have changed a lot. I have found my path back to God and he is guiding me. I have become a better stronger person. I have an incredible support system who’s ready to fight this and get the actual full truth out and we will. I am a firm believer in the truth always comes out. Until then I will continue to better myself and work towards a better life."

Why is acne the only disease that is socially acceptable to insult and discriminate against?

I had pretty severe acne for about 10 years. Unfortunately treatments weren't working and only making things worse for years at a time.

I wasnt self conscious or insecure about it until I started being made fun of about it, and being excluded from just about everything involving other people. I thought it was just going to be something I'd go to the doctor for and treat, and people wouldnt treat me differently.

Common advice I've received has been unhelpful. My core complaint is the poor treatment and exclusion, and the lost opportunities I had as a result. And people often try to say that the issue was insecurity, which it was not.

Also, some people tend to think of this as a "lookism" issue, but to me that suggests that people dont know that acne is a an illness, which I dont believe. People are aware when others have it, and deliberately choose to treat them as less than anyway.

Acne was also pretty painful in my experience. While I was effected by it, I commonly had many cysts on my face that were throbbing in pain.

My skin is very clear these days, I managed to get it under control and I noticed immediately that people became inclusive and less hostile afterwards.

And there's never been any sort of validation for what I've been through. People just deny it ever happened. I dont go around invalidating people life experiences, or harrassing the ill.

People assumed that I was dirty and unhygienic. People said I was a trailer park methhead, when Ive never set foot in a trailer park or done meth. That isnt exactly giving me a fai chance when participating in work and school functions.

The whole thing has really made me lose trust and respect for my community and the systems we choose to support.

The only vindication I have found is since clearing my acne, buying a house with a pool and getting a good girlfriend. Im just so jaded to everyone else around me.
