I have circled the drain on applying to a low residency mfa program for visual art, life circumstances keep me from being able to relocate for an in person program. Every time I start poking around I am gobsmacked at the price, it is equivalent to what in person students pay except they get access to world class 24hrs studio spaces. Feels insane! but also it feels like there is definitely a glass ceiling not having an mfa. Can anyone share about their experiences? perhaps there are programs not on my radar that I should look into? thank you.
