Accommodations Waiting List

So i sent in my accommodations late for a single and I know there’s supposedly “no housing” so now I’m on a waiting list.
I was wondering If anyone could tell me just how fucked am I?

I’m hoping some freshman at forty eight will realize SCAD isn’t for them and give me their room… but how horrible is that and what are the chances of that actually happening 😭

Considering Transferring from Sav to SCAD ATL

I'm a Film major at SCAD Savannah and I'm seriously considering transferring to SCAD Atlanta, probably around Winter Quarter, and I'm looking for advice from people who have attended either campus….especially Film majors.

Academically, I'm doing fine, but socially and personally I've had a harder time adjusting to Savannah than I expected. I'm from New York, and while Savannah is beautiful and I've genuinely grown to love parts of it, I sometimes feel isolated by how small and slow-paced it is. I've also had some experiences with racism and have found it difficult being in an environment that feels much less diverse than what I grew up with.

At the same time, I don't hate Savannah. I love being able to walk everywhere, the coffee shops, the historic atmosphere, and I've built a life here. That's what makes this decision so difficult.

Part of me feels drawn to Atlanta because it's a larger city, more diverse, and obviously has a stronger connection to the film industry. But I'm trying to be honest with myself: some of my closest friends are moving to Atlanta, and I'm worried that might be influencing my decision more than I realize.

For Film majors specifically:
How does the Atlanta Film program compare to Savannah?

Do you feel limited by the smaller campus?

How do productions work there?

Do you feel there are more industry opportunities in Atlanta?

And for anyone who has transferred campuses:
How did you know you were transferring for the right reasons and not just chasing a change?
I'd appreciate any honest advice!

Advice on how to get the surgery

so I am a 19-year-old female who has been chronically ill experiencing strep throat continuously for the past year. I am known as the person who is “always sick”.

During my first year of college, I had a really bad episode where I had to fly to a different country because I don’t have health insurance in the US. I went to the ER in the US and the nurse said “wow.” to how swollen my tonsils are!

my primary doctor told me it was so bad that my ears were blocked and swollen from the tonsillitis. She was surprised I could breathe and my tonsils were extremely large, but she told me that I cannot have surgery during a time of crisis.

so I left defeated not understanding why I went through all of this just to be told “oh we can’t treat you right now”. of course they gave me a lot of medicine which helped but the problem is still there and it will continue to be there. I’m always sick. I always have a sore throat and itch and I was just wondering how did you guys convince your doctor to let you get the surgery or is this just a problem that I’m having? I really want the surgery because I know I need it.
