I'm pretty sure extreme cooling is not needed for a low power mini like something with Radeon 740M.

Not even 980M, but maybe a Panther Lake or AMD Halos could do more heat?

How cool it would be 2-3 generations later with more extreme TDPs?

I'd like to ask if you also have this issue.

I've just upgraded my Pixel 10 to Android 17 stable.

I use it connected to external display, and use Xbox controller connected to the display's usb hub.

Android 17 introduced a new behavior and the phone's display can turn off if not used. It's a nice feature, I can still use the external display with a connected keyboard and mouse.

However the analog sticks and triggers stop working on the controller while the phone's screen is off. Buttons still work.

I'm an original Stargate fan from the old days.

I tried Prime Video when The Expanse moved there. Because that was the content I wanted to pay for.

Then I cancelled my subscription since then because l don't think other content is worth the money.

Once a new Stargate show comes, I'm planning to subscribe again, because it's worth my money.

If Amazon MGM Studios delays Stargate by 2-3 years because of the current decision, well, let's be it. Then my money is also delayed.

If the target audience is not me, maybe I won't subscribe again. I have my ways to watch mediocre shows without any subscription.

Over the last few days, I've been all over the place emotionally, but things finally started to click regarding what I want from Stargate and Amazon MGM Studios. Iterative, scientific, and engineering problem-solving. Show the progress, show the process, show the failures, and let the results speak for themselves. Plus, throw in that essential character bonding.

​Stargate used this exact recipe. While the universal language in SG-1 and Atlantis was just a narrative shortcut, Abydos in the original movie and the aliens in Stargate Universe were treated very differently from a linguistic standpoint. Aside from the language aspect, the entire approach to defeating the bad guys relied on that iterative, scientific problem-solving; spiced by character bonding.

​Does this formula work? Just look at Project Hail Mary. Amazon MGM Studios produced it, and it’s a massive success!

​This made me realize that we don't actually know how much Martin Gero's original vision aligned with this, or how much the studio bent his ideas into whatever the final script became. But of one thing I'm sure: Gero, Mallozzi, and Wright can deliver this kind of Stargate.

Whatever is currently going on behind the scenes at Amazon MGM, I'm crossing my fingers that they recognize the success of Project Hail Mary, and adapt that recipe for the new Stargate, and choose this direction!
