You grew up in a house that's silent as a morgue. Dad listened to music in the car, and in the house, only when Mom wasn't home. You grew up on Beatles and Zeppelin and Hendrix and Fleetwood Mac and Santana and CCR, in secret. Honorable Mention to Tears for Fears, Thompson Twins, and Cyndi Lauper (cassette tapes I stole from my Dad and listened to on my Walkman).
You're a teenager and they bought you a stereo with a CD mixer and you started playing your music in the Silent House. Dad walked by your room one day and said "Who is this?"
It's Radiohead, and you're stoked!! You had money from your part-time job, and you bought him a copy of 'Hail to the Thief' for Father's Day. Wrote a thoughtful note about loving sharing music with him, how it's a special way to connect.
You helped your parents move, a decade+ later, and found the CD, still in its original cellophane.
A query for you fine folks.
I'm a barista, and one of my coworkers dropped a quart of heavy cream near my foot. It coated one of my shoes, and dripped through the vent holes to squish near my toes for the rest of my shift.
Aside from the sensory nightmare, I'm now concerned that I will be making literal toe cheese if I can't get the cream out of this shoe 😭
Possibly pertinent info:
A standard sneaker-style non-slip work shoe
Faux leather upper, the insole that came with the shoe, rubber sole
Should I just replace the insoles (my feet would probably appreciate nicer ones anyway)? Is there something in particular I should use to clean the inside of the shoe to remove the oils from the cream, so it doesn't stink?
