Replace engine or move on?

2018 Fusion with the dreaded 1.5L coolant intrusion issue - recently diagnosed. It’s our daughter’s car which we bought in 2022 and still only has 70K miles on it. It’s been a wonderful car until now.
Trying to make the best choice possible on how to move forward.
We still owe about $5k on the car. Quotes for replacing the engine are landing between $11-12K. Dealership said they’ve give us $1500 for trade which leaves us with $3500 to roll to another loan. Not crazy about that but $12K to replace is so much money.
Thoughts on which option to take??

EDIT: Carmax offered $6500 for our Fusion so we’re likely taking that and cutting our losses.
