Can we talk about BigHit’s mismanagement of TXT and how unequal opportunities are hurting the group’s growth?
disclaimer before reading: i’m being very careful with my wording here because i know how fast people jump to conclusions when an opinion doesn't align with their fandom narrative. this is a critique of company strategy and industry management not an attack on any idol. if objective facts about promotion disparities feel like a personal attack to you, this post isn't for you.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and it honestly frustrates me how BigHit is handling TXT as a group. First off, asking for equal opportunities across all 5 members is NOT about taking anything away from anyone, and it’s definitely not about "jealousy" or "hating" a specific member. It’s about wanting the entire group to succeed and reach their full potential. But right now, the blatant favoritism and uneven distribution of solo opportunities are holding TXT back from competing at the level they should be.
Brands and fashion houses naturally reach out to whoever already has the most exposure. When the company consistently prioritizes one member with early solo IG accounts, early solo schedules, full solo promo cycles, brand deals, and festival stages, of course external opportunities will keep rolling in for that same person. Meanwhile, crumbs like a random OST, a single magazine photoshoot or a one-off variety appearance once in a blue moon for the other members are treated by some fans as "fair treatment" An OST or a photoshoot every few years is not the same as full solo promotions, and acting like it is is just pure denial.
Also, the excuse that the other members are "fine with their situation" or "just don't want solo deals" is such a cop-out. They are professionals, they’re not going to go on Weverse or interviews and publicly air out their grievances with their agency. They support each other, sure, but supporting a groupmate doesn't mean they don't also want their own platforms to grow.
The biggest issue here is how this affects TXT as a whole. While minor activities for other members never interfere with group schedules, major solo pushes constantly overlap with or exploit the group’s momentum. By dumping all marketing resources into pushing one specific push while neglecting equal exposure for the rest, BigHit is actively turning away potential fans who want to stan a balanced 5-member group.
TXT has so much talent across all five members, but BigHit is sabotaging the group's full potential and wasting the other members' time. Calling out company mismanagement isn't "solo stan behavior" it's caring about the group's future.
