BCNU picket lines

IF the nurses picket:

Wondering if there’s going to be any official direction about crossing picket lines for medical care. Are we supposed to try to avoid picketed buildings and seek care at unpicketed ones? Here in Prince George that’d be impossible, but maybe in larger cities?

I know it’s scabbing to cross a picket line in order to work - is it scabbing to cross them for non-emergent medical care?

Trying to sell Alexisonfire tickets via Ticketmaster resale

I had 2 Alexisonfire tickets for sale in my Ticketmaster account that I listed a couple months ago. I just went to double check on them… and they’re not listed anymore. No idea when they removed them or why?? I had re-listed them AFTER Ontario passed the law that they couldn’t be resold for more than face value, so that’s not the issue.

So I just tried to re-list them again. I can’t. First, when I try it through the app, it switches to French for absofuckinglutely no reason and I can’t switch it back. I tried this multiple times. Restarting the app, restarting my phone, etc. it’s like they do this on purpose. 🙄
So I try through my browser.

Nope. It gives me errors saying I don’t have my payout info entered.

Except it WON’T LET ME ENTER ANY PAYOUT INFO.

Oh my god I’m going to fucking lose my mind.

Cycle interrupted for no reason?

I’ve had my LR4 for prob about a year. Never really had issues with it. But over the last few days it’s been erroring every day, saying there’s been a cycle interruption bc something’s been in the globe for over 30 minutes. Except this has actually never happened. I’ve checked my camera recordings each time, and my cat has just been in & out as usual, so I’m stumped.
My firmware is UTD and I’ve cleaned out the tray recently too, so I have no idea what could be causing this?

Absent union rep

Hey guys.

The last few times I’ve had union issues I’ve used the same union rep. One issue is an ongoing thing so she’s attended meetings with me. I haven’t been thrilled with the rep’s (lack of) action, so I reached out to another rep at one point who wanted to take action about my situation. She contacted the component head for advice who then said “Nah, stick with your original rep”. So rep 2 backed off. I wasn’t thrilled about that.

Well since then I’ve brought up 2 other situations to rep 1 via email over the last few months and never received a response. One being an open denial for a “lateral only” job app in a higher pay grade. I was under the impression these were all to be addressed and receive grievances? No? At least a *response*?

What should I do here when my component head pretty much isn’t allowing me to work with a new steward when I’m unhappy with the lack of communication and inaction from the first?

Negotiating pay & moving expenses?

Appreciate any advice given. Apologies for being a bit vague here; I have serious trust issues regarding co workers after severe bullying/harassment incidences at a previous employer.

For some specifics, I currently live & work in BC; potential new position is in AB.

A friend of mine in another province found out I used to work in x industry after seeing an offhand comment I made on FB. She chatted me up and asked if I ever wanted to get back into that industry; I said yes because I was SO good at it and it was the best career I’ve ever had. I had to leave it bc of health problems but that was ~10 years ago. (I’d spent 4 years in that position). So she had me send in my CL/CV despite the posting being closed and 2 days later I had my interview. That was last week.

I’m still waiting to hear the results of the interview & skills testing, but I want to be prepared to negotiate if I’m offered a position - I’ve never negotiated a contract before.

They are willing to negotiate starting wage, with the lowest on the scale being over $2/hr more than I currently make. I’m maxed out for my pay scale in my current position, with almost no room for growth anymore in my employer bc of the economy: we’ve had a major hiring freeze for 18 months with no end in sight.
They are also willing to negotiate relocation costs.

What are the general rules/advice/tips for negotiating wages and relocation expenses in a position where you have fairly significant experience at the job (it was 10 years ago, but the job itself doesn’t change, only some of the technology used to do it)? Are there specific things to know regarding negotiating these things cross-provincially or in Alberta specifically?

Any major DON’T’s (besides immediately lowballing yourself)?
What types of things might I not be taking into consideration? What can/should I be asking for that I might not have thought of?

Thank you SO much for reading this and taking any time to provide advice.

Does anyone have any suggestions on *proven, successful* ways to prevent the hair loss that can come with rapid weight loss?

I’m a 40 y.o. female who just took my first dose of Wegovy on Sunday. I also just started Estrogen a couple weeks ago. I’m scared about hair loss.

Wondering if anyone has had success in staving off hair loss with any kind of supplements? I’m also raising my protein intake by a LOT to try and help.

I keep seeing ads for a product which is pumpkin seed oil & saw palmetto oil, saying it can prevent hair loss. I’m intrigued but going to do a bunch more reading into any potential research on it.

Thanks for any tips or products or research you can provide.
