Lisfranc Injury

First time breaking a bone and I broke 4…! Was wearing flip flops and walking on the edge of a sidewalk and rolled it happened July 4th seeing podiatrist July 15th because they wanted to wait for swelling to go down. Only in an ace bandage for now because I can’t get into the aircast.

CT findings on last slide for the official info

Hey everyone! My 4th of July got cut short when I fell in flip flops and twisted my foot, went to the er and an x-ray showed a broken big toe bone but they were worried about more broken bones that wouldn’t show up on the x-ray so I got a ct scan they then said I had multiple fractures. They never told me which bones are broken all I know is the big toe bone is more towards the base, and they didn’t say how many I have the note just says multiple. It was also around 3am when I got to leave so I wasn’t asking a bunch of questions. But the questions I did ask were kind of not brushed off I don’t know the word like keeping something from me and saying the specialist will know more. They gave me a boot and crutches but I couldn’t get my foot flat for the boot so they ace bandaged it, I also just tried again and I couldn’t get my foot flat for the boot. They said the podiatrist will be able to see me this week though but obviously can’t call them till Monday morning. The x-ray and ct people commented about how bad my foot looked so I’m not feeling too hopeful. This is also my first broken bone(s) ever so not sure if I’m over reacting but I was screaming in pain on the ride to the er and I feel like I have a normal to high pain tolerance. The doctor said the ct would look for a lisfranc injury on the midline (?) (this was all from like 9pm-3am so bare with me) but then my doctor switched and the doctor giving the news just said multiple fractures 🤷‍♀️

Anyways long story short I feel weird that I have multiple broken bones but I’m only able to be in an ace bandage, also just hoping anyone has a similar experience or an idea of what will happen at the podiatrist!

Returning to Work Post Surgery

Hello,

I have my surgery planned for this upcoming Friday 6/12, and am hopeful I can return to work the following day. I only work part time at a pizza + sub shop thats family owned and pretty lowkey. All I would be doing is taking phones, customers, making salads, and maybe some other little stuff. Aka I’d be paid to do practically nothing compared to what we usually do. Obviously my work is aware I’m having the surgery and expecting my text on Saturday morning to see if I can come in or not, they also have staffed accordingly. Anyways was just talking to my mom and she isn’t hopeful I will be able to return because she’s comparing the pain to her carpal tunnel surgery. But if I’m gonna be in pain I might as well be making money ya know? Anyways wondering if anyone has any input or has been in a similar situation!

Thank you!
