Why Choose One When You Can Have Both? Sister + Wife = Mommy
reddit.comthe most memorable summer event you've seen in a gacha game
Feels like a lot of gacha games are entering their summer arc again.
Yesterday I opened X and immediately saw Azur Lane's new shipgirl outfits, and yeah… that was definitely a strong visual impact lol. Today NIKKE also had its summer event stream, with new swimsuit looks for Cinderella, Marciana, Siren and a few others. Different styles, different kinds of fanservice, but it reminded me how summer events in gacha can be more than just characters in swimsuits.
So what past gacha summer event left the strongest impression on you! For me, last year's NIKKE summer event stood out because it mixed the usual swimsuit atmosphere with that ghost-hunting animation. And seeing that this year's NIKKE summer event will also have a small animation by A-1 Pictures makes me pretty interested in what direction they'll take it this time.

reddit.comI keep wanting fewer apps to keep up productivity
I uninstalled three productivity apps last month. My desk now has a timer, two notebooks, an old phone hooked up as a coding plan display.
I think what happened is I stopped wanting apps that try to be the whole system. A notebook at lease won't interrupt me with a notification, and it won't become an AI workspace. They just do the one thing.
It's just the parts that stayed on the desk.
CS2 pros showing up in NTE was not on my bingo card
I was looking through some NTE clips and realized the first few were s1mple, then MOUZ's torzsi, and even Falcons' TeSeS showed up too. Seeing CS2 players randomly try NTE is kind of funny in the best way.
Maybe it's the open-world city, maybe it's the cars, maybe it's just the power of anime characters?
Duet Night Abyss 1.4 feels like a much better entry point than launch
I know Duet Night Abyss probably isn’t the kind of game everyone on this sub is going to care about, but the 1.4 update honestly made me look at it in a better light.
The biggest thing is that the game feels way easier to recommend now. Not just because of the usual live-service “free pulls” stuff, though 1.4 is pretty generous there. The free pulls, character selector, weapon selector, and event rewards make it feel less punishing to start late or come back after dropping it for a while. You’re not immediately staring at a mountain of banners and feeling like you missed the only good window to play.
The art direction is still the main reason I think DNA stands out. It has that very polished anime fantasy look, but the character designs are a bit more theatrical than a lot of similar games. The new characters especially lean into that. Flora, for example, has this elegant witch / noblewoman vibe that makes her feel memorable before you even care about her kit. The costumes, effects, and animations do a lot of heavy lifting.
1.4 also seems to have helped the presentation overall. The game looks cleaner in motion now. Lighting feels better, character models pop more in scenes, and combat effects are easier to read than before. DNA has always been flashy, but earlier it could sometimes look messy when too much was happening at once. This update makes the flashiness feel more intentional.
I also appreciate that the update doesn’t feel like it’s only chasing new players. There’s enough here for returning players too: better visuals, more rewards, new characters, new systems, and some actual reasons to mess around with builds again. That matters because a lot of live-service games are good at getting people to install, but not always good at making the return feel smooth.
I’m not saying DNA suddenly became some perfect hidden gem. It still has the usual live-service baggage, and whether someone likes it will probably depend on how much tolerance they have for farming and character collecting. But as someone who bounced off it before, 1.4 feels like a real improvement instead of just another content patch.
For people who care about stylish action games, character art, and generous catch-up updates, this version is probably the best time to give DNA a fair shot.
