Klook VIP or USJ Express

Hi all,

My partner and I are visiting Japan in October and we were planning to go to USJ on our Anniversary, 11th October.

Unfortunately, we’ve come to learn October’s prices are VERY high. While a lot of the express tickets say a price of “10,800Yen”, when we go to select a date the most of October is 20,000+ with the 11th (Sunday) being 26,900Yen. These prices are for the thrill packages only… anything with Super Nintendo world rides were more.

All up, we’re looking at a total of about 80,000Yen for 2 adults (725 AUD).
This is just for the studio access and a 4 express pass.

We were recommended Klook by some friends for the 3 hour VIP experience which gets us into Super Nintendo World for 4x rides and then ontop of that another 4 express pass for 2 people.

All up, with the studio pass, this package will cost us $980.

It’s $280 more but being Garunteed an additional 4 rides in Super Nintendo World (Garunteed) and then being able to use the 4 express pass on other rides, would you consider this worth it?

We honestly didn’t expect this to cost as much as it had but just trying to work out if we just splurge a bit more now…

Thank you.

My longest run to date! Half Marathon in 9 days time

A year ago I could barely run 4 or 5km without my shins forcing me to tap out and my legs shaking from the pain. My ego was too big and I always had that “she’ll be right” mentality and ultimately I ended up with shin splints.

I wasn’t unfit by any means, I played rugby, cricket, golf and went to the gym 4 times a week. But, running is something I never took seriously when it came to proper warming up, specific leg exercises while training legs at the gym, fuelling and building a proper base before really trying to increase the mileage.

About 6 months ago I really took my time getting back into running. I’d never run more than 4km or so at a conservative pace (6.30 to 7.00min/km). The last few months I really started to increase my mileage, regular 5km runs with the odd couple stretching out to 8-10km and more so recently, the last 6-8 weeks even further with my 5km’s increasing to 8km’s at a conservative pace.

This July I challenged myself with Dry July here in Australia, to run a half marathon distance run at the end of the month while raising funds throughout the month. Today was my last long run prior to this and if you told me 6 months ago I’d run 18km I’d laugh. It may not be the quickest but it sure as hell felt smooth (apart from the 7km mark and final few hundred metres which had a fair bit of elevation, Strava just doesn’t seem to show it). My HR seems to be elevated higher than what I genuinely believe it is (Apple Watch).

Camping necessities? Sedan/Car

Hi All,

I have a sedan 2020 Mazda 3 which can pack a fair bit of stuff with the rear seats down.

I’m looking to get some roof racks on my sedan.

What are some necessities for camping? Camp sites to be specific.
My partner and I are looking to do a lot more hiking and camping outside of Sydney but we will need to get the necessities.

What are things that you’d recommend?
Swag? Roof racks awning? Fridge/freezer? Gazebo?

Thanks all!

Setup for a couple, Mazda 3 2020 Sedan

Title says it all.

The Mazda 3 2020 sedan with the back seats down can fit a fair decent amount of gear in it.

No I’m not looking to go off-roading, 4x4 in the mud, but rather my partner and I are looking to head around Australia and do a lot more hiking and camping.

What are some recommendations for some necessities? Swag tents? Yes, no? Roof racks with an awning instead? Would a portable fridge/freezer work? And how do I keep them running?

Sorry for such an open question. Looking to get a shopping list together as we hope to explore more of Australia. Currently based in Sydney.

Thank you!

Took my Mazda 3 (2020 G25) in today after my last service being 20,000km ago. A bit of neglect and travel for work made it difficult to take her in.

Get a call saying what I’d expected “tyres, brake fluids, spark plugs and cabin filter need changing” but then got told “because you missed your last 10,000km we need to charge you for two 10,000km services in order for it to be up to specification”.

Is this normal? Doesn’t seem right at all? My car is a novate lease so I’m unsure if that changes anything but I don’t think they’d even know that?

Yet to pick the car up but I am wanting some clarity on the two charges and if it is normal?
Thanks.

Sounds simple, get a note, call in sick. And so it might be

Scratchy throat started to come on earlier today, assumed it was just the AC, but sitting in the office (by myself on night shift by the way) I’ve felt my throat feel like razor blades and why feels like a fever starting to develop.

But given it’s the back end of my swing, the pit is closed due to weather and geotech issues, I don’t want them to assume I’m just taking the piss to get out of it earlier? I’d probably just look to drive home assuming my Tele doctor says I need a couple days (nights) off.

Would this be bad?

Title says it all.

Working as a Geological Technician on a 7:7 roster (pushing for 8:6 because I’m travelling before and after my roster).

Because I’m on a 7/7 rather than an 8/6, I don’t have a back to back swap when it comes to accomodation due to the fact I arrive the day before and leave the day after (more of a 9:5 when you think of this). Because of this I’m in motels or caravan parks in the town and it all depends on public bookings where I end up.

I arrived the night before my roster starts as per usual and got a call from my senior (who isn’t even on my swing) saying I need to do nights this week due to us mining ore in the evening. We have a staff shortage and at the moment I’m the only one with experience on my swing when it comes to staffing, procedures, geology etc.

I agreed to do it however it occurred to me on my first night shift that my accomodation being a public motel requires a 9am checkout. I usually return from night shift at 6am.

I contacted the caring company that sorts everything for us and they said a minimum advanced notice of 1 full swing is needed for them to accomodate for nights due to the fact it’s a public motel.

I emailed all my senior, mining manager, superintendents and HR a total of THREE times now with no response. Verbally speaking to the one superintendent I got told “I’m sure they can’t just kick you out”.

Really don’t know where to go from here? I’m almost tempted to not work my last night so I can leave like I normally would.

Added note: I found out my contract doesn’t specify night shifts. It’s worded “7 DAYS ON AND 7 DAYS OFF DAY SHIFT ROSTER ONLY”.

The details of what happened:

March bill was paid on March 19 for $109.07.
Card was double charged and after a few days of “pending” they both went through.

Shortly after this date, electricity company text me saying I’m in credit and I can process a refund (10 business days) or keep it.

Decided to just keep it and make it easy for my April bill.

April 19, paid the remaining balance of $22.04.

As of today, I got a call saying I owe $109.07. They looked into the details and they can see it was “rejected” from my bank on the April 20?
My question to the company is how does it reject one month later when my bank shows two cleared payments, multiple texts from the company stating I have a credit, and as of April 19 I paid the difference in balance.

They have locked my account now and are “investigating it” and have requested a written letter from my bank stating I was double paid?

Unsure what to do here lol.

If you’re gonna smoke, have a smoke.

But Jesus Christ, save the convo for your morning bus ride in.

2 blokes clearly pissed from a slab standing outside a row of 4 rooms (1 being mine) and just yapping away.

1 bloke told them to shut up. The typical “f*** up you c***”.

Then another bloke and myself chimed in.

It’s been 30 minutes since and they’re still there.

It’s almost 10pm with a 4am wake up.

Why are people like this? It’s not hard to just keep quite.
