Which is your steamiest favourite fic. Preferably Slowburn not just straight smut

I love slowburn but steamy fic to read, and haven't come across a lot in this category. I like those gut pulling stolen glances, touch, and slow build up. I love lengthy content, the longer the better ❤️

Please share your favorites and rec please, Canon, AU all ok plus self rec welcome too!

My favourite so far has been 91Whiskey, Under the Midnight sun but I am new to the fandom so it's likely I haven't been exposed to many other good works

Requesting recs for in-canon or canon-compliant fanfics please

I am currently at season 13 (first time watcher, new to fandom) and there are so much of missing destiel scenes / gaps that its tough to keep watching.

Can you please recommend in-canon or fix-it fanfics that helps me get through these days. Not necessarily up to season 13, I mean any season/overall/ or even season by season fix. Best option would be- slowburn, angst with that witty Dean dialogues and banter

I had received some recs in comments on previous posts but now finding it tough to shift through all comments (as you guys have always been generous in responses I have a lot to search through :-) )

Edit- DeanCas content on A03 is just too much to navigate, I tried filters and using keywords but the content out there is huge! Please tell me your favourite fanfiction (not AU for now, since my mind is full of in-canon Destiel moments and just wanting more of that tone)

I am fine with post-canon fix-its too please. Just avoiding AU at this point since I am still into the seasons

Final edit to add this recommendation, (I was searching for this response to my earlier post, so adding the link for others like me) https://www.reddit.com/r/destiel/s/zfmuMXXbsW Thank you u/HellFireQEW!

First time watcher- followup post: Need insights on/upto season 10

I posted this earlier https://www.reddit.com/r/destiel/s/Kw6tAxdXUY

Received support/guidance which helped me to continue watching. Now I am at season 10 and have some queries, wanted to check-in with you all once more

Currently I am at season 10, Ep 9 and I can't help but notice one thing - there seems to have been a very conscious and deliberate attempt to have less scenes of Cas/Misha Collins since season 7 till even season 10?

Compared to seasons 5 and 6, there are so less noteworthy scenes for Misha Collins. In the early episodes of season 10, I watched cringey scenes with that female angel who tried to 'seduce(?) ' cas?? A lot of this looked like an attempt to de-popularise or reduce fandom for Cas character, as they seemed to be playing more in to the Crowley banter (which also I loved, it was delicious acting, no complaints) but the opposite was happening with Cas character I felt.

For me, as a first timer+binge watcher, it seems so obvious. How did fandom feel about this at the time? Even in the girls-school stage play episode they seemed to have kept Destiel or even just Cas reference to the barest minimum? For me, in my head Cas is like one of the leads, but Crowley got more screen time (loved the actor Mark Sheppard though, wonderful acting. He was the next best thing to look forward to)

If you have time in hand, can you post some insights into this please?

First time watcher, currently at season 7 early episodes- Should I stop because I love love Destiel and now already and clearly understood from reddit posts that Destiel was never canon for the makers (only thing they seem to show clearly seems to be Cas' pure love for Dean)

I loved seasons 5 and 6 for the chemistry and the subtle hints, gave me Good Omens vibe. I had been squealing and searching for YouTube videos till I read through most early reddit and Tumblr posts and other discussions to understand the heavy queerbait and the show creators not following through at all, and I can see how the fandom got pushed to chase for fanfic because the pain is real.

I went through this with a Chinese show called Guardian with similar vibe (monster fighting duo, one of them celestial powerful) but even with Chinese censorship the show brought through the mutual love so clearly (in many subtle ways the showrunners made it very clear that the two were canon couple) and there was such a huge following for the pair during it's run.

I don't think I want to go through the rest of supernatural knowing clearly that showrunners had no intention to make it canon and just baited all along with few hints , gestures here and there, 15 years no less. It just seems they baited and betrayed?

I want to stop watching here- but need your opinion on this. Please guide should I go through or drop? For additional context I love all the meta episodes so far including the supernatural book, the convention and the tv show alternate world (french mistake is my favourite so far). Sometimes I skip the gory bloody scenes but mostly I love the characters so far including Balthazar, Crowley etc.

Please help me with your suggestions! Has anyone else started recently knowing the way destiel ends and still pulled through and loved ?
