Recently diagnosed

Hello to everyone,

I really did not expect a sub reddit for this, however I am happy there is one for us all.

My name is Kieran and was recently diagnosed with a stage 4 pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour at 28 years of age.

I have a gallium pet scan tomorrow to check if it has further spread I believe, it has already went to my liver. I had issues with acute pancreatitis for years from 2022 to this year and was in hospital for a few weeks in July this year.

My attacks were blamed on alcohol consumption although I was never a big drinker, after being in hospital for 2 weeks they found my tumour. It is 8cm in circumference, which is large.

I will be going for surgery most likely in a few weeks, this will be life changing for myself as I will need most of my pancreas removed, my entire spleen and hopefully zap away the parts on my liver.

I'm just glad to have found this and hope everyone is well.

Thank you

Update about my Journey

Hi all,

I recently posted about having pancreatitis in which they found a tumour.

Unfortunately I have been diagnosed with a stage 4 pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour, which is a rare type of cancer.

I am going for a gallium pet scan on Wednesday to make sure it has not further spread than it already has to my liver.

I've been advised I will need most of my pancreas removed, my entire spleen and hopefully zap away the bits on my liver.

Please keep me in your prayers, I am still in shock at the news as I am only 28 years old.

If anyone knows of any support I can receive in the UK please let me know.

Thank you

Journey with Pancreatitis

Hi all,

I experienced my first acute pancreatitis attack when I was 24, back in 2022. I was in hospital for a week and was accused of being an alcoholic, which I am not, I am a casual drinker, however as I was treated with such disrespect I didn't believe the hospitals diagnosis.

Fast forward to 2023, going into January 2024. I got AP again, after a quite boozy December which we all have in the UK. This time i was in for 3/4 days and decided to not drink for 6 months.

2.5 years to June this year, I got AP again whilst on Holiday in Greece, back in the UK the hospital had me in over night and told me I was fine to leave after not even 24 hours.

2 weeks later, I got AP again, without haven't drank any alcohol for 30+ days. This led the hospital to stop blaming booze and actually provide me with scans, after a CT unfortunately a mass/growth was found on my pancreas about 3 inches long, pending MRI and Biopsy results I am still awaiting the outcome of this, whether it be a cyst, benign etc I have vowed no alcohol again, my family and my life mean too much to me now.

I believe I have handled the situation well, but a part of me is scared the growth/mass could be cancerous etc or not treatable, I really hope I can come out the other side

Sharp stomach pain after Cardio

Hi all,

I have been in a calorie deficit for 6.5 weeks now and as I am nearing my 8 week end date. I have increased my cardio amount, which is either 30/45/60 minutes on the treadmill walking at an incline.

However, in my last 2 sessions, when I have finished my session I can feel a almost cramp like sensation in my abdomen area which gradually turns into a very sharp pain and it lasts for 5-10 minutes then it goes away again, but today due to the pain yesterday. My stomach area feels almost bruised.

Has anyone had this before?
